No Ignition Issues, 520 hp on a Stock Motor
Just got back from the dyno session at AEM. The car made 340 at the wheels at 13.5 psi with no ignition issues. We didnt get any breaking up till we got to 28 psi. At that point Jason Siebels of AEM did the mod to the circuit board that fixes the ignition issues some were having at high boost levels. All it involves is clipping off two little electronical thingys (actual technical term yes) on the board. That got us to 32 psi. We got a little more ignition break up at that point so I took out the stock plugs with the stock gap that had 9,500 miles on them. Put in some B8EVs gapped at .025" and it ran clean at 32 psi. 519.5 hp to the wheels fine.
If you have an early box, contact AEM (you may even need to use a [gasp] telephone [/gasp] to do it. They will take care of you.

I can use the 2WD dyno fo free. Takes about 2 hrs to switch the car to 2WD so for extended dyno testing it is cheaper by far.
Unfortunately by dynoing in 2WD on a Dynojet we can only compare numbers with virtually every other dyno chart in the free world. To compare numbers on some of the AWD dynos out there, subtract 40 to 200 hp depending on the dyno I guess :-P

The point of the thread was that AEM is supporting the EMS and listening to the problems people were having with the ignition on the stock coils.
In other words, swing on some other tuners nuts all you want but I will NOT stand for anyone bad mouthing RRE on these boards.
Now screw off and leave the conversation to the adults.

Have you had a chance to get ahold of some EVO rods for testing yet? From what I hear they look exactly the same as 2G rods but are forged instead of cast so should be much stronger. I am thinking EVO rods will be the new standard in rod upgrades for 7 bolt motors if they can be sourced cheap enough.

I'm assuming that's JN (the AEM tech).
I have to say I'm pretty shocked you use a 2w dyno too, but hey...whatever works, right?
And since I hadn't noticed you'd joined up, welcome to the forums!
