Bad news today. Went to fire the car up. It fired right up, however, it was spilling oil out from somewhere. Dug into it and found this! How the hell does this happen? It was snapped clean off. As soon as I tried to pull it out of the head, it came out like this.

Mivec oil control valve:

Should have another one on the way soon. I dont have a clue how this thing broke. Something had to bump it pretty good to break it off like that.

Well when I head out that way I find myself all over the area... In the North and South burbs and downtown.

How have you been at MOD the past 5 years and I have never meet you?!!?!?!?!?! I have been going since 2005 and I only missing MOD one year in 2009. 2005-2008 I showed up in 2003 Phoenix Red Lancer OZ Rally. 2009 and 2010 I had my first Evo, a weightless white VIII GSR. Then last year I showed up in Amelia, my second Evo, a wicked white IX MR.

I'm a short feisty outgoing asian... Not hard to miss. lol.

GOOD NEWS!! IT RUNS!

I go the new Mivec Control valve yesterday(thank Anarchy99). I put it in and started it up. She fired right up without a glitch. I cant believe how different of a tone the car has now. I am loving it lol. I took it for a small drive this morning. Nothing out of the ordinary.

Only thing that I might be puzzled on is oil pressure. I know the block has no bs, so that raises pressure a bit. I am running 10-30 in it right now. Temps are about 25*. Once it fully warmed up, I am seeing between 20-30psi at idle, normal, I figure. Cruising though, seems a bit higher than normal....maybe? I put it in 5th and cruised at like 2500 rpms and was at like 75-80 or so. I cant remember exactly where the old motor sat at these speeds, but this is a little higher. As soon as I touch the gas a little to get in it, it shoots straight up to 100+. Prolly just more nervous than I should be.

Other than that, no leaks or anything. The Exedy triple isnt bad at all. I cant even hear it with the exhaust lol. I love the engagement and disengagement on it.

I am gonna stay with Tom from Tcomp tuning for the tune. I am gonna just finish a tune out with it on pump with a single 255. I know I wont hit my 600hp goal with it. I will put a few thousand miles on the motor with this setup and then in the summer pick a double pumper and get some more boost. I am staying on strict pumpgas with this car. I might look into a meth inj later on as well though. Thats it for now!

Finally complete. Its gonna be so worth it.

nice man, cars looking good. should make some nice power. FYI, a single 255 is usually only good to about 450hp. give or take

Yea, the more I look into it. I think I am gonna go for the walbro400. It seems with a re-wire, it will make provide fuel for some good hp, with pumpgas especially.

when the car is cold the oil pressure will be over 100psi for a good 1minute then it will slowly drop down..

disconnect your clutch switch so you can start car without pushing clutch in, keeps bearings happy.

normal idle pressure with a fully warmed up car with no balance shafts should about 25-35psi at idle.. inbetween there.

its perfectly normal..

i like that unique color valve cover how it accents the lettering on it.. it pops the lettering at you..

the only thing i see wrong in here is im not in your signature LOL.

personally i would color match the intake pipe with the valve cover tho.

Not yet Tom! lol Here, Ill add you in there haha. Where are these Tscomptuned decals???

Yea, the oil pressure is prolly just me being paranoid lol. I would love to know how high it goes at wot though. Id say anything over 3k, it shoots above 90 and up. I cant F' ing wait to get this thing tuned!! Shoot me your price on a walbro400 Tom. I think thats what I am gonna go with. Do I need the install kit still, being as I have a walbro 255 now? I do want a re-wire kit though with it.
