2.2L Forward Facing 3794

I am starting a new build when I return back from Afghanistan. My current build consists of:

GST built 2.3L
Buschur cast manifold HTA3582 kit
FIC 1250's
Buschur Double Pumper
AMS 3.5in intercooler
Kelford 280/276 with springs and retainers
APS BOV
ETS UICP
Exedy Twin
and the rest of the normal bolt ons

On E85 the car put down 612/500 with maxxed out injectors. The engine is currently intact but is starting to make some internal noises and its just time to get a new engine.

My future build will hopefully be as follows:

ER 2.2L
FIC 2150
Tial BOV
Koyo Half Radiator
Magnus with Boomba TB (ETS UICP for magnus)
FF ETS manifold, 02 housing, oil lines/fittings, LICP, test pipe, air filter
HTA 3794
ETS 4 inch intercooler
GSC S3's with ported head and suitable valvetrain
Exedy Triple

My ultimate goal is 800+ horsepower wise. The car will be just a weekend warrior since I seem to break everything when it was my DD and around 600hp. I have been through a stock setup, fp green, fp black, and currently with the hta3582. I have changed out my injectors, intercooler, and upgraded other parts numerous times.

I was just wondering if I had left some stuff out or if any of you guys had anymore suggestions before I go through with it (wont be for awhile). All tuning and labor will be done by English so I know I am in good hands. Currently the cost is not a priority unless the wife finds out first lol if not I wont tell her haha

I am open to any suggestions or opinions on this setup. Thanks in advance

Looks like an incredible combination of parts. However, I don't think you'll need that much cam to reach your goals. English designed the smaller S2R (i think) based around a 3586 on a 2.4L. He'll probably chime in on the subject.

Thank you guys for chiming in. This is the only thing I have to look forward to in the morning lol I had already talked to english about the cams lol I mentioned the s2's and pretty much he told me to go big or go home haha so s3's are where its at. The car had 272s, then I went with kelford 280/276 thinking that will be all the cam I need. The only reason I want to go with the S3's besides Aaron telling me too was that I am sick of upgrading the same damn parts over and over again. Hopefully the S3's do the trick

I made 775/650 at 37lbs on e85 with kelford 272. Same turbo on a PRS built 2.4. Spool is quick you can look at my build thread for more details and a video.

Oh I totally agree. I wasn't suggesting S2s by any means. I was speaking of the cams they've been developing for your exact setup, but they're a few months out yet. Aaron's opinion > all other opinions. You're in good hands!

Did you have cam gears? It was a weird combo to have the kelford 280/276 but I guess thats what I ordered lol Im sure the cams are capable I just would feel more comfortable with jumping on the GSC cams bandwagon I guess. Like I said, I am not looking to upgrade my cams a third time if they dont work out with this setup. Your numbers are pretty much exactly what I am shooting for. Thanks for chiming in.

Blue91lx: I have some months to wait so I might as well be patient and wait for the results of those cams. If it will help with spool and not sacrifice any top end, I am all for it. I told myself I would stop at 600hp but everyone else keeps upgrading so I might as well too

ok I guess I should add that too the list also lol I have a mbc now and was thinking about switching to a dual stage boost controller (like buschur or turboxs) or getting an aem truboost so I can lower the boost when cruising and turn it up when needed. Any suggestions?

I went with ebc but I have an 03 so I can switch maps via the intercooler sprayer switch so this made more sense in my case. I would ask your tuner which he prefers.
