Back on the saddle '14 GSR REDEMPTION BUILD.
Been a while since I posted something about the X... It's been 17 months since I sold my '10 Mr T. Now I am waiting on a '14 WW GSR full loaded (SS-SSL-Nav) to be delivered. Since I am going back to the evo platform, had to change things up a bit and going for 5 speed manual from SST. Modding will be a little different as well. Basically it is the same setup as Kracka.
With less than 30 miles on it these will be going on:
MAP Exhaust Manifold Ported (coated by SPC)
MAP O2 Elimminator Downpipe with 3D Flange (coated by SPC)
MAP Intake Manifold Rev 2 64mm ported (coated by SPC)
Torque Solutions Thermal Intake Manifold Gasket
MAP EF2.5 3’’ non-anti surge, compressor porting, turbine porting (coated by SPC)
Mil. Spec 64mm ported TB
AGP FMIC (w/3'' LICP straight coupler)
Kracka's Shifter Package
ETS Resonated test pipe
Cobb Catback (Oval)
Cobb SF intake
Cobb AP
Cobb 3 port BCS
Cobb Turbo 3'' inlet
Cobb XLE BPV
Depo Racing LICP + UICP + UICP Elbow
Eibach Pro Kit
White Line F + R Sway bars + Roll kit
ID 1000 CC with PnP Harnesses
Walbro 255lph FP
The initial tune will be on 91 however, I will be moving soon enough and will have access to 93 thus will be tuned to 93 when I move and should easily be 400 whp + which is perfect for DD.
I will update this thread once I take delivery + when the modding begins!

Nice setup. Kracka style lol but aren't those power levels gonna make her blow on stock internals?
Also you might wanna take it easy at least till 600miles as per owners manual. Change the oil and filter and mod after that point. Especially on stock internals seems like going to 400whp will be a ticking time-bomb without even a break in period.

I am saying that if he will be spending so much money he might as well reinforce the engine.
In order not to blow it and have to do it again and spend more money.

All the mods he listed he can probably do it himself, changing rods, pistons, etc... Is more than most people are willing to do themselves so then you have added on labor costs and down time. If his tune is good he wont have any problems. If he doesn't want to blow his engine he should leave it stock, even people who spent thousands on the engine blow their stuff up. Its a risk vs reward game everyone has their own balance.

If you don't mind me asking, how much is this setting you back? I've followed Krackas build as well. I've been toying with the 400whp quest myself.

This is my old setup.
Kracka actually has 63k miles on his Evo and 40k of it is stage 3. The engine can handle a lot of power, torque is what blows up it. As long as the torque is below 410, it is all good. With 93, i will be around 425whp and 400 wtrq like Kracka is which is perfect for DD.
For the break in, since Cobb has not released the '14 tune yet, I will only be rocking the shifter + test pipe + catback. I will be installing those with a buddy of mine and if we really feel like it, we might do the FMIC with the U/L piping as well as the intake. Thus the break in will happen before that 220 whp is 370+ on 91.
All of the things listed are for power, and all are 8k without labor and without shipping (tune included and also that I am sending in my own cores thus the price drops significantly). Cosmetics will cost 2-3 grand as well.
Cosmetics:
MR BBS (will sell the enkei's or trade + cash when the time comes)
LED DRL Strip (hella)
Hella Supertone (will DIY paint them black)
Passport 9500ix hard wire kit
Full tint with brow
Most likely fog lights delete
Most likely MR lip wing instead of the gigantic gsr wing (even though the GSR wing is MUCH better aerodynamics wise).

Nice setup...sounds familiar, I wonder who this "buddy" of yours is
The factory break-in period is more for the clutch than it is the engine. I suggest not hard WOT shifts for the first 200 miles giving the disc a chance to bed in with the pressure plate and flywheel. Each engine is taken to redline before it even leaves the factory. Machining tolerances are so tight there is no reason to immediately change the oil either...leaving the factory-fill oil in for the entire interval actually aids with ring seating and break-in.

Picking her up next Friday from the dealership. Do you guys know if the AP works with the 2014 models? If so, will also install the BOV and do an OTS map on it.
These parts are already gotten and others will be ordered soon enough:
Kracka's Shifter Package
Cobb Catback (Oval)
Cobb SF intake
Cobb AP
Cobb 3 port BCS
Cobb Turbo 3'' inlet
Cobb XLE BPV
Cobb Downpipe (temp)
Cobb Test Pipe (temp)
LED DRL Strip (hella)
Hella Supertone (will DIY paint them black)
Passport 9500ix hard wire kit
Next step:
JDM OEM Fog light delete kit
Perrin Short antenna
Prosport Hood Damper Kit

Saturday, Kracka and I did a 12 hour shift for the following lol:
Kracka's Shifter Package
Cobb Catback (Oval)
Cobb SF intake
Cobb AP
Cobb 3 port BCS
Cobb XLE BPV
Cobb Downpipe (temp)
Cobb Test Pipe (temp)
Depo stock turbo inlet
Depo UICP with elbow
Depo LICP
Cobb OTS 91 and 93 tune, both had some sort of a boost problem. We think it is either: Faulty BSC, Leak somewhere in the system (everything was checked 4 times, twice by me and twice by Kracka for correct plugs and tightness of the bolts) or the OTS map is inconsistent.
Next step for power/suspension (within a month or less/more):
- Whiteline Swaybar
- AGP FMIC (maybe Perrin, not too sure as its expensive as hell)
- Maybe the Eibach Pro Kit
- ETS Resonated Test Pipe
- And protune by Calvin @ Cobb Plano.
Before the next step for power/suspension (this week or next):
- Tint
- Hardwire passport 9500ix next to the AWC button
- Move the USB from glove box to between the radar detector button and AWC button (having a wire sticking out of the glove box is annoying...)
- OEM JDM Fog light delete
- Hella LED DRL strip
- Hella SuperTone horn kit (painted black instead of the original red already)
And here is the album link to keep track of it all!

Here is an update on what was done since I last posted:
- Ken Block Fan Boi horn (Kracka trademarked), Hella Supertones that I painted flat black.
- Hella LED DRL's
- OEM JDM Fog Light Delete
- Passport Radar detector hardwire.
Did an on/off switch for the LEDs instead of auto as I want to choose if I want them on or off. Fitment was okay, definitely need to alter it for your fitment a little bit as the brackets that comes with it are not the best quality but it worked in the end of the day. Currently, since the LED DRL's are Made in China... The driver side one lost all but 2 bulbs and has condensation in them so I will be getting a replacement for them. I will actually put an extra layer of silicone around it so it doesnt happen again...
Monday Kracka and I tackled:
- AGP FMIC
- Rear diff bushings
- Whiteline Rear Sway bar
- ETS Resonated Test Pipe
Tuesday Calvin @ Cobb Plano did a pro tune on her.
334 whp and 356 wtq with 26.45 psi boost on 91 octane gas.
The power mod list for this tune was:
- AGP FMIC (wih 3" LICP Straight coupler)
- Depo UICP with Elbow
- Depo LICP
- Depo Turbo Inlet
- Cobb downpipe
- ETS resonated testpipe
- Cobb catback (Oval)
- Cobb SF-intake
- Cobb 3-port BCS
- Cobb XLE BPV
Here are some pics from the progress.
