And we have this thread anyway.
By the way have you guys checked out this site? On this one, you are discussing things with people who are mostly in the Philippines. A few of us from Canada have signed up here as well. It's cool. Lots of different shapes of Lancers. Maybe we can ask them for a NorthAmerican forum

Fellow Pinoys: I recently purchased an Evo in the US and it is being shipped to Manila for the JUN engine set-up at Autoplus. It may take a year before it goes back to the US, but definitely, it will be carrying Pinoy pride. It will be armed with a JUN special 4G63T 2.2 liter engine with full JUN components, together with a HKS GT3240 turbo. We plan to hit 9secs @ 2bar.

We Pinoys pioneered the California dragracing scene!!!
Bet you dudnt know we Pinoys pioneered the California drag racing scene.
They started a revolution. Was it because of the animosity coming from the V8 muscle crowd?A lack of proper racing venue? Or just the love of compact imports? Who knows? Whatever the reason, Pinoys and other Asian-American youths begano going to illegal drag races in the streets of Gardena, Long Beach, Ontario, and the valley cities of Los Angeles County in the nineties and gave birth to what is now a billion dollar industry. These Pinoys, who are mostly first and second
generation immigrants brought over a unique flavor from the Philippines that strongly influenced their American born brethren. They drove Mazda RX-3s
to 7s, Honda CRXs and Civics, Datsun 510s and Zs, and the all time Pinoy favorite Toyota Sprinters and Starlets. From the outside, those cars didnt look much. These Pinoys must have listened to their lolas while growing up, because they concentrated on modifying for engine performance than cosmetic improvements. Since their cars looked wretched and feeble on the outside, Pinoys successfully pulled the wool over the eyes of their street opponents, who condenscendingly granted their requests for "plus". These methods were apparently as rampant in the industrial estates of Southern California as they were in the streets of Manila.
From these early days, many Pinoy pioneers and innovators went on to scorch the garages, drag strips, and show carpets of America with their tire marks.
Meet five Fast and furious Flips...
1)RJ De Vera- He was one of the first to combine looks with performance. The epic battle between De Vera and the Bergenholtz brothers in the first import showoffs of 1995 upped the bar in performance/showcase scene and turned it to what it is today. RJ built the Honda S2k used in the movie Fast and the Furious and played Danny Yamato, the PS2 racer dude. He also built the famous Pepsi Lancer Evolution, and aside from tuning, runs Ro_Ja, his own custom wheel shop.
2) Ron and Ed Bergenholtz- The brothers Bergenholtz are as inseparable as Venus and Serena Williams. Ron is the designer, Ed is the driver. The Bergenholtz team was the first to use wheelie bars on front wheel drive drag cars, and they built the first unibodied Honda that could run a quartermile in single digit times.
3) Myles Bautista- Myles pioneered the now very
> common practice of engine swapping when he
> experimented with ZC motors in his Honda CRX.
> His successful experiments in turbocharging
> Honda engines made him a hero in the drag strips.
> He now runs his own shop, Rev Hard, which

> parts for some of the fastest Honda drag cars in

We created the trend, we created a billion dollar industry out of our innovative wicked ways of making the most out of punies, and lastly, we changed the streets of America!
Iba talaga ang Pinoy! Cheers to all Pinoys here and abroad!
Speaking of which, the Autoplus 1200hp Nissan Skyline GTR R34 might be featured in a US based mag, and the great thing is, it will focus on the tuning abilities of our homeland.
