Queensland Lancer Club

yeah.... I think I was talking to someone about setting up a Club in Qld.... I am the president of the Mitsubishi GSR/EVO Club here in Adelaide. We are fully registered, insured, CAMS and sponsored, so to save you hassle and legal red tapes, you guys can set up a branch up there instead!!! Saves you a lot of heartaches and headaches.

rexhunta: we do not have a branch in WA yet, but we aim to have one set up by end of next year... however if you are interested enough and is capable, then I don't see why you can't be the person to set one up now... We already have a few contacts in WA who are interested in a Club.
Mivec: There are a lot of things you will need to consider, including a proper Club Constitution, legal contacts with any sponsors, newsletters, promotional materials, band account, incorporation, name registration, generate legal forms for membership and events, CAMS affiliation, insurance for Club, members and office barers, plus you will need a team of committee members that will pull their weight. I started the Mitsubishi GSR/EVO Club Inc here in Adelaide and it's almost a full time job. I pretty much live and breath the Club. So you will have to prepare to do that... For example my phone bill has increased 4 times and petrol twice since the Club.
Now that's if you start your own club. But if you are starting a branch of the Mitsubishi GSR/EVO Club in Qld, then that's a completely different story, because we have already done all the admin side of things, so all you have to do is get members and some local sponsorships.
I personally don't see any point in having a separate Mitsubishi Club for each state. The bigger 1 club is, the more power we have over businesses and government!!! Just like that of the WRX Club. They are huge and powerful because they are a National Club. We are getting bigger too, becasue we have so many sponsors and also Mitsubishi support. Yes, we have frequent communication with Mitsubishi Motors, in fact Ed Ordynski called me a couple of times already.
So let's start the talk between you and me.....

In WA there is already the MOGWUA club which is the Mtisubishi Owners Group of WA which would be a great general Mitsubishi purpose club. They recently came down to our drag wars at teh quit motorplex and are organising regular drive days etc,.
