I think over atm, its Nissan, Mitsi's and Hyundais.. everyones not paying as much notice to Holdens and Fords as much nemore..

The Nissans - Drifting.. Drags
The Mitsi's - Usually just a nice feel good cruise car for everyone..
The Hy-Undais - Cheap as chips

You would not have said that a year ago. It's only recently they've picked up their act. They brought out the 240kW XR6 Turbo and now it's getting a new transmission and being upped to 270ish. It's almost as fast as their 8. I reckon that they wouldn't have brought out an 8 except for the fact they race 8's and it's an image / culture thing here.

Yeah, i think Ford felt the reign when Holden released the Blown V6 Commodore, as everyone wanted forced induction.. but it took Ford too long to hurry up and catchup, now they brought out the Turbo model, and all the 40 year old revheads and buying them up.. hehe

Round here HOLDENS reign supreme! BAH! ****box Commodoore
drivers are EVERY WHERE & think they're the fastest things out! One lad I know gloated "I ran 16.0s (VS Commodoore 3.8L)... thats only 2s slower then a rex!"
My reply "thats pretty good ..considering the WRX puts out SFA more power! I ran 16.6 (pointing to stock Lancer 1.8L) ... hang on, dont u have 2L more?... "

Silvias are getting like flys round here.. the quickest is my mates 180sx.. @ 13.2s

Lancers are also gettin common... there is about 6 kitted coupes & 1 sedan gettin round now.

As for Fords.. the BA's are awesome.. the 6s put out the same power as a pre- Gen3 V8 crummydoor & the 6Ts.. well.. I know Ford mecahnic & he said the turbo model was down tuned so as not to overpower their 8s!
Who'd buy an 8 if the 6 was cheaper to - purchase, register, insure, run & had more power?

Q. I'm moving to austrailia, do you guys got speed limits?

A. Do pigs have snouts? Do cars cost $$$? I John Howard the biggest suck-hole (read George DoubleYa Bush) on the face of the planet? Hell YES we do!
It's literally a multi-million $ business for the Government to see that they are enforced!
I saw on the news the other night, one fixed speed camera in NSW or VIC makes something like $2OG... per day! Hell I saw one speed camera & a radar cop within 5km on the way to work this morning! Thats in a small town of 40000 odd!

Only if you don't want a fine for going 3k's over it.

Our number plates have tags like, 'Queensland, the smart state' (ghey if you ask me), but we think that Victoria should get 'Victoria, the police state'.

We got limits and they love to be enforced. We do have some roads that are open limits, (with provisos), but they are far away from most drivers.

Easy Question. Commodores (mainly VN) and Silvia's (N/A mostly) and Skylines are also starting to get popular.

Cheers

Skylines are EVERYWHERE around here. Supra's are getting around (mainly older guys) and there are the veritable load of VN, VP, VR, VS Commodores and a few VT's. I've seen a number of RX-7 Series 4 and 7 and even a fully tanked corvette stingray (with the obligatory supercharger about 2 foot above the bonnet). Not to mention the ever present horde of WRX's and about a million and three Lancer Coupe's with Talon and Xtreme bodykits (yawn).
