FWIW I have boosted and spiked up to 35 psi on pump gas couple times and my car was still ok.
In fact one of my spikes when my brother turned my mbc the wrong way was over 40 in the mid range. I saw the needle of the boost gauge turn almost 1.5 turns before I let off the gas right away. It takes a lot of effort to blow an evo engine trust me on that one.

Don't be a fool smog....
A 2.3 stroker and a 35= Laggy drag racing setup ( ONE trick Wonder) and a Divorce when the wife finds out.
The car won't as streetable, and i think you may have EM problems.
Remember all the problems A few of people had with BIG turboe'd EVO's
Many guys speak here from their butts, but this comes from seein my older brothers GT35R EVO.
And from spending a ton on my 10 second project.....along with the fact that it takes months to make such a car.
Go with a simple biuld 2.0 or 2.1, with a 30R with a .82 housing.
Good luck, Tom

If you read the subject header, you can see that he's building up a nice stroker.

Pesonally I think there's plenty of proof out there to show that a GT35 powered Evo can last just fine and I'd say that it's no coincidence that a good chunk of the fastest Evos in the US are powered by AMS kits... which is why I will get one as soon as I've saved up enough pennies ...almost there ... almost there ... stay on target ...almost there ...stay on target!!!

Going with a GT35 gears the car towards drag racing IMHO..
BTW Ludi, You should also set aside $$ for some driveline upgrades.
