You would have to define pump gas. If you're talking about 93 Octane (Ron+Mon/2), then you can boost to ~23psi, no matter what kind of turbo you have (3071, gt35r, 16G, etc.). 91 Octane is even less than that. Try to push more than 23psi on 93 Octane, and you will start to get detonation.

This is precisely why I have opted for a 3071R for now. I am not planning on running a lot of racegas in the near future and furthermore I can't afford to build up my 2.0l block right now, which leaves me with a stock block running 93 Octane. The peak HP figures for the gt35r and 3071r are very close in this scenario, but the 3071r will spool much sooner, resulting in a better overall powerband.

Of course the nice thing about the AMS kit is that if I decide to go with the gt35r later, all I have to do is swap out turbos and the intake pipe...

I believe that someone said if your not using race gas theres no need in running the GT35R because thats where they shine. But I guess alky would be good for that kit...

is this really worth it compared to a gt3076r? im only going to be running 91oct and alky and so far i am leaning towards the gt7076r as the overall best turbo for my set up.

91 and methanol would make really good numbers. you would be able to push 28 psi on either turbo and the 35R would walk away from it.

john, call me tomorrow and we can set up your kit and down payment.

standalone or flash would be fine.

on a GT35R with Methanol injection you can hit 30 without a hitch
