Hopefully as you do more tunes the #'s stay consistent.

Each car is a little different and the power it makes depends on many things. This particular car made very good power gains with the flash. It was able to take the timing changed I made without tripping the knock sensor much. I did some more cars since then and I had one that I was riding on the knock sensor bone stock! Each run was up and down 10-15 hp because the ECU was pulling timing. I wound up making more horsepower by actually removing timing and smoothing the timing map out. Some cars will gains 15whp, some will gain 30whp. You can point the finger at casting flaws, core shift, qualit of gas, engine noise, ect..

Here's the thing with mail in flashes. Mitsubishi tuned the EVO with a safety factor in mind, us tuners who are flashing are reducing the margin of safety in the interest of making more horsepower. This margin of safety depends on the quality of gas you use, the climate you live in, engine build quality, ect. I have to find a nice medium where I can increase power without compromising safety. What good is it if I make a flasht that gains 30whp on half the cas and the other half wind up making less power because the knock sensor if going crazy. Right now I'm gathering a database of cars and tunes so I can offer a mail in flash that will make you more horsepower under all circumstances. I should have the 05 flashes ready very soon. We are working on a new webpage that contains all of our flash info.

AMS,

I have another vendors flash. I am very interested in getting your reflash. I know you'll have no problem overwriting the existing flash.

My question is I have just recently started to get the P0300 CEL in 5th gear cruising. Can you guys address this with your flash? Or, should I get reflashed at a dealer first to get rid of the P0300 before coming down to get flashed by AMS?

Thanks,
Tim
