Flash

Has anyone who had a flash done and took their car to the dealer....did they or will they detect the flash if they plug into the ECU?

I'm iching to have an AMS tune.

Thanks

bump

anyone have any idea?

Martin, Eric, Mike.... you have any insight / opinion on this? If it could be detected then I'll just wait but if they can't then I'll be planning for a tune.

I talked to ams a few weeks ago and they said it could not be detected. Lets let them chime in to confirm. Also they are supposed to be about 2 months booked for flashing already.

pretty sure they cant detect it, but when they take your car around the block and come back with whiplash...they may wonder.

They can detect it but they have to really look for it. they cant just scan it and see it. they have to break down the Hexidecimal Code to see it was changed.

i thought in the 05's that they just have to check a ?checksum? number and that will tell them if any of the maps were tampered with. is this true? i heard only 05's though, it is undetectable in 03-04. all this is based on heresay, i know none of this for sure, AMS please chime in.
