AMS, do I really need to reflash?, 10.5 hotside + o2 housing
Im installing the 10.5 hotside and 02 housing within this week. I was wondering would I have to get my car reflashed with these new added parts? How nessecary is it? Would it be similar to the current flash that I have?
=)
Current tune and set up by AMS:
AMS STAGE 3
Plus Meth Injection
Need your help. Thanks

I think anytime you add parts, producing more air and more power it's always more beneficial to get a flash done. Are you going to try and turn the boost up a bit? Probably knowing you can push a bit more air into the motor. I would get a flash done but thats just me.

I would honestly get the flash done after installing those 2 things, there is going to be more air, I would not push the car without a tune. Call Eric to verify that but that is my suggestion. I very well could be wrong in this matter but common sense tells me to do the flash

Thank god my car is almost done, hopefully there will not be a need for a reflash when I get it back.
That sucks bro, hate having a good shop around that is always busy!

no you do NOT need a reflash for those 2 parts. these are exhaust parts, and you almost never need a reflash for installing such parts. installing those parts will not allow more air in the engine, they will just lower the amount of back pressure. just think of it as less resistance to the engine.
now when you install these parts, your boost will slightly increase. so just make sure you set your boost controller slightly back.

I was just thinking that if I were installing those parts, I would probably turn the boost up a bit, I just figured it would need one. But Good to know someone has the right info.

I am doing this too and I have been talking to jarrod at buschur. He suggested a reflash just to be completely safe. I imagine you can just send AMS your ecu and they can flash it. Yes a dyno tune would be better, but anything will help.

Just back enought till your boost drops to where it was prior to the o2 and hotside install.
I installed ported Hotside, helix o2, and GT-Spec manifold and never refalshed. The car ran great. Don't worry about a reflash for exhaust parts as elhalisf stated.

Finally i just install the 10.5 hotside with ebay o2 housing. I really dont notice the difference. The only thing I kind of notice is that the boost goes up maybe to 28 then starts to drop. Do you guys think I'll have to turn down the boost, to keep the car running safe. Or should I leave the car the way it is. Is a reflash nessecary,to notice a bigger difference. Need more help with this issue. Thanks
