Curious on AMS Turbo selection

AMS,
....... Just curious as to why you guys haven't tested out or used the GT-4088r or
the new 40r based turbo 4067rls..... It seems that you guys skipped from the 37r turbo straight the the 42r and up.

Are the 40r and 4067r not good turbos? and if they are which is the better for making power?

Thanks in advance for sharing your knowledge with us,

Miguel

Okay if not AMS, does anyone else have an answer?
Sorry I don't visit here to much so if there is a thread on this elsewhere I wouldn't know.

Thanks

I am sure if you asked you could buy a AMS kit with a GT40R, etc however what is the need for it?
The GT37R is capable of making 700hp+ and running 10's in the 1/4 mile, so it really depends on what your goals for the car are. I do not think the GT40R would have a much different overall potential compared to the GT37R.
Again I am sure if you wanted XX turbo they could and would set you up with it

yea, am sure they would sell me what ever I wanted, but I was mainly curious as to there choices.

I run a 37r equivilant turbo, same thing different name. I was just curious as the there selection from the 37r and skipping straight to a 42r.

I haven't found anything with them doing any work with the 40r based stuff.

We have tested the 40R on a couple different cars and the gains just simply didnt justify making a T4 manifold.

With the power that can be produced on a 37R it really wasnt work offering the turbo. Is it a bad turbo? no but there are easier ways to extract that HP

You can also search for Al's impression of the 40. He feels the same way and thinks it is a waste of time.
