Cool Final Update!

CJ Posting from Marty's Account...

One last update before we're back on the road heading home. The race went very well with a good start and lots of hairy action, none of which Marty was involved in. After moving his way through early traffic and picking off a few spots here and there Marty settled in around 14th place, which is where he finished. He fought forward and kept others from making their way by with some nice rally moves taking all four off several times creating a James Bond like "dirt screen" behind him. It was quite the show with only very minor rear bumper damage from a little close quarters maneuvering through the bus stop. The Subies took 1st Chuck H., 2nd Kristen S. and third was Will T. in his BMW. The Hard Charger award which is given to the driver that moves forward the most positions was given to, none other than our very own, MARTY GRAND in his AMS Performance EVO 9!!! I'm sure Marty was glad to top his successful inaugural season off with a very respectable performance at the Championship Runoffs. For those of us that know Marty well, the Hard Charger award should come as no surprise

Be sure to tune in to Speed Channel later this fall and watch the action unfold in true Hollywood style.

Marty called me after the race to fill me in. Great job guys. an 8 spot jump is no small thing. Congrats on the award. We are very proud of what you did this weekend and we know this is just the start.

Can't wait for next year. Marty and CJ will own all and we will do everything in our power to make sure it happens.

Congrats to Marty. This is Marty's first year at this and I'm very impressed with his efforts and results. He has so much potential that I think next season will be even more impressive. Again he was out his first time on the new suspension, new setup and he got more track time during the race than all his quals combined!

Cool

Looks like the BMW M3 that Marty fought it out with was penalized for an "on track incident" (put back 9 positions) so Marty's final finishing spot was 13th.

Good job we need to get more Evo's running. I have thought about getting one for T2, but I like open wheel too much.

Check this out. The in-car video is from a GTO in T2. However, it clearly shows Mike Santos in his white Evo battling it out with at least a half a dozen cars. All in front of the GTO for the first 3 laps. Pretty cool!

Chris in the GTO is a good guy, I was a couple cars back of him at the finish. I got stuck battling a couple cars behind Chris early on and by the time I cleared them, he had a few seconds on me, My tires were pretty spent at that point and I just didnt have enough left to run him down, maybe next year In case you are wondering how the Evo does in a straight compared to the 6.0 liter Goat, I was able to pull him but not by much. Little SCCA article attached
