great results guys. do you have to get custom upper intercooler pipe fabricated for this peice? in the engine bay it looks to sit a bit lower than the stock possitioning.

Do you guys really want to lose 60 foot pounds of torque at 3500rpm and gain 11 horsepower and 4.5 torque up top? Spool up time will also be 600rpm slower. This product is totally not worth it for the price if you still have the stock turbo.

mucho negativeity. im buying this for the 20g-LT though.

my heads already ported and i'm planning on buying a full race exhaust manifold for it unless AMS steps up and will make an exception and make me an ams manifold for the stock turbo (20g-LT having the same bolt up setup)

*crosses fingers and hopes they will*

I'd be willing to bet the loss in torque is due to weather conditions and not the intake. A 30 degree increase in ambient temp. (the VSR was tested in 85 F weather) would account for the slower spool and loss of torque.

wooow, I found the problem. Eric will post up the correct graphs up. The run with the stock manifold was done in 4th gear, so the spool up was much quicker than third gear. I have the runs in 3rd gear which will clear things way up. Look at the torque gains now! , it's almost 30ft-lbs in part of the rpm range.

OOOOK as martin said here is the problem.

I posted these graphs which were done in different gears as martin stated. Here you can see the big spool difference because one was done in third gear and one is done if 4th gear

WRONG GRAPHS

These are compared to speed and RPM

Now here are the RIGHT runs done in the same gear. There is virtually ZERO loss in spool. Looks at the power and torque carried after 4000 Rpm. I am now Definitely putting one on my IX.

RIGHT GRAPHS!!!

That's much better. Now, how about a ported stock intake manifold test?
