I'm afraid to ask what a fully built 50 trim setup would require to run E-85...

Gonna be a pretty even match up at the next track day if you show up with E-85 in the tank, Eric.

I agree Marcus, it should be a fun day. Im not racing but I am curious as to see how much faster I can get this little four door around south course.

Eric, those TQ #'s are amazing, that thing must pull like a beast. Your #'s are making me want to spend more on my car, more than what I already planned on spending. I must not read this thread again, hahaha!!!

Interesting, no addition HP TQ or spool, yet you continue to run it?

Weight Savings were worth the loss of strength from cast?

Not being smart, just curious

To be honest its my lack of motivation to take it off. its a PITA to get at some of the bolts and I'm simply lazy. We are going to pull it off and most likely put in on one of the employes evo's that has a larger bolt on turbo.

Although you benefit from the inital lower cost of the fuel and ability to run more boost. The draw backs are that not only does E85 naturally burn faster, but you have to nearly double the injector to supply enough fuel to maintain a safe a/f ratio. And can you play with timing more to increase power, or just throw more boost at it. Cause i know that Torco stuff that Benji brought in, only allowed him to increase the boost but there really wasnt room to play with the timing safley.
The gas that we were using in Eric's car last night honestly suprised me with the amount of boost and timing that it would agree with. They were a bit on the low side of what I was expecting. While I was in Vegas, I happend to have a stock turbo EVO 9 with rougly the same mods on pump 100 oct and it seemed to be a bit more responsive to boost and timing changes.

This is an ancient Jedi secret. There is no formula that will accurately scale the injectors that I am aware of.

That torco junk in my car is running fine but i fcked up an o2 sensor. Just replaced it and the car is good again, if i eat another one soon I know its fuel related and not just regular wear and tear (car has 50k+ on it).

I'm interested in possibly trying out E85 as well, would my 780s on a 50trim be maxed out though? or would they be okay to run it.

780s wouldn't even be close to being adequate for E-85 on a 50 trim. I'm not sure that I'd even be comfy with 1000cc injectors on my setup - although that's just a gut feeling, haven't done the math yet...

maybe it is time for that intake manifold/ems setup with some new injectors as well...

but my civic sorely needs a motor that makes power.

oh ps. we changed the plugs and got the new o2 sensor in and the car runs great, thanks a lot for gettin that for me so quick

My 4g61 Colt took about a 5-6 mpg hit when switching to E85.

So if you get tuned on E-85 in the summer would you have to change the tune for winter?

I just discovered that the station with E85 next to my house (5 miles away) sells it for $1.98 a gallon ...93 gas goes for $3.00++ ...I think my Evo will be environmentally friendly this summer

1.98! Must be nice! Like everything else, we get whored big time in the city. Even E85 is almost $3 a gallon. Still better than 93 octane which is over $3.50 currently.
