To clear up some info in this thread.

1.) On my car a 3071 spooled up later than a 50 trim (back to back testing)
2.) a 3076 does not spoolup earlier than a 50 trim
3.) The GT30 series turbos hit a lot harder than the 50 trim. In other words, once they spool, they get to full boost much quicker. My 50 trim spools up much more gradually ... kinda like my stock turbo did. The 3071 I used to run was much more like an on/off switch.

Thanks for the comment and info

Eric how far off is the 3076R from the 50 trim from what you have found?

Would you agree that the 50 trim is the better pump gas turbo while on race gas the 30R tends to pull away? How do you guys differentiate choosing between the two?

I know the ? was towards Eric but my 2 cents is that was the hardest decision ever... I will be running meth so for that single reason I believe the 3076R was a better choice over the 50trim but mean while if I wanted to only run pump gas around town I believe that the 50 trim really had the edge.... From just asking around and also talking to the guy's at AMS I seemed to get the same answer....

I pretty much got the same answer. I wanted a turbo that would let me hang with Z06's (not the 2007 mind you) on the highway. So that meant pump gas and resonable boost levels. The 50 was the best option for what I wanted.

The 50trim with a proper tune should spool about 100-200 RPM Quicker then the 3076R.

Personally I think the 3076R is the ultimate turbo. it will make just a little bit hp on pump gast then the 50 Trim but it will make more peak power. Now every turbo we sell is very reliable I have to say that I have NEVER had a 30R come back for any issues, and I have had some customers do some really crazy things when it comes to install and what not.

Personally if push came to shove and both were put in front of me I would take the 30R. There really is no replacement for GT Series Technology.

good topic guys , i am in the market looking for a turbo for my EVO8 MR 5 speed and i said 50 trim is my turbo after some resurch , called Eric today to put in my order and i dont know how but i ended up ordering a 3076 .
I trust Eric and he told me that if he was to chose from one of there turbos , the 3076 would be his choice . so 3076 shal be .

and he also said with the octain we have (95 pump ) for sure the 3076 would be the best choice

thax Eric .

Thats enough good talk of this turbo! I'm about a beer away from putting one on my credit card! Not smart.

A GT3076 for reference won't make 20 psi until about 4400-4500 rpm. So it is not 1,000 rpm but is a solid 600-700 rpm sooner. At 22 psi on pump gas this car made 360 whp/321 torque. It is a road racing EVO and was set up very conservative.......If I was choosing a turbo for my own car and had to choose between a 3071 and a 3076, I'd probably choose the 3071

Good to know this turbo is a turd, watch out guys

Well I dont have any comments in regards to that statement but Personally I love the 3076R and recomend it to many of our customers. If it wasnt a good turbo I wouldnt be putting it on my car.

I agree, the 3076 is a great street car/track turbo, very responsive, very fun, and pretty damn tourqey.

Not many 35R's make that tq
