One important question for me....

In the event that (God Forbid) someone destroys this engine.....how are we to rebuild? Will you supply parts or will the motor have to be shipped back to AMS.

I from the Caribbean so shipping stuff away is not always an easy procedure.

Also, what redline would you think this would max out on using a 37R. If it's about 8500rpms will there really be a need to put a modified head on this motor right away?
Or is it suggested etc?

Martin,

I believe Buschur did compare the HTA 35R vs an AMS 35R in first dyno chart on this thread:

I understand that the head is not included in this...correct?

with such an engine...priced as such..shouldnt a modified head be included accordingly...

anyhow...which head do you suggest running on this set up?

our standard AMS race head would be a perfect fit for this shortblock.

if you knew the costs of the components, machining time and cost then you would understand...sleeves and billet cranks tend to not be cheap

trust me, I know...I design and make my own

just the 4340 billet for my crank is just shy of $700 before shipping...

I agree with eric, a AMS race head would get the fullest potential of this motor. But a 100% stock head with ARP head bolts and some cams would be nothing short of spectacular either.

There are so many advantages to this engine. Extra displacemnt, bigger/longer power band,..... Basicly, IMO, the 2.3rr bottom end would give you a lot more bang than a race head would if you had to choose between the 2.

In addition,

I have built many road race honda engines over the years and they cost around 10k all said and done. Thats without a custom crank, no port/polish on the head and stock valves (rule limitations).

You must pay for quality. AMS will be happy to sell you some!
