i wanna start a petition to request AMS to make a tubular exhaust manifold for the stock turbo set up., lets see how many are willing to purchase this if it was available.

How funny is this. I just stated in a ETS thread for them to make a tubular manifold. No matter who makes it, don't charge $800-1000.

I thinks AMS already tried doing one and found that the gains did not justify the cost.

+1

i think the general consensus is that it costs too much for the gains in return

cost too much for ams to make or too much for the consumer to buy? if it was about $300 to $400 i think a lot of people will buy it., look at how many here have the DC, Megan, style manifolds.

What if its coated also? If it was around $500 I would buy it. Some big name exhaust company makes one coated and its around 500. Its either magnaflow or borla I forgot which one though.

we made one one for my IX when I had it and there were no gains and no losses. Basically on the stock turbo it ended up being a nice engine ornament. Im sure it would of helped a bit on a larger bolt on turbo but for the cost of the manifold to retail ($900) it just didnt make sense to make it.

We are all about making nice things for your evo but Function over form is always the priority. We just couldn't justify selling the EVO community this nice tubular manifold and have it make no to very little HP on the car.

There are several companies that make a tubular manifold for the EVO but do an independant dyno test on them and you will see there are little to no gains.

I even ported the hell out of a stock manifold and there was little to no gain.

In this case the stock is the best!

I think the big picture here is you can max out a stock turbo witht he right mods, and you don't need the high dollar mani. There is only so much available airflow form a stock turbo and boost will fall of in the upper rpms anyways.
Good lucjk on trying to convince someone to build a high quality mani for 4-500.
