Repainting AMS logo on FMIC

I think the salt from last winter took a toll on my AMS fmic, the painted "AMS" logo on it is really faded.

Anyone repaint or freshen theirs up? I was considering using painters tape and outlining the entire logo and spraying it, but that looks like it might be a 4 hour process in and of itself lol

If I were to attempt to actually repaint it with a brush, what kind of paint should I use? (hesitant to do that as i would probably go outside the lines and make it worse lol)

AMS, any chance I could buy a stencil from you guys to respray?

We do not offer a stencil, we will respray if free of charge if you send it in, if that's a feasible option. We spray it with high-temp. grill paint.

Its hopeless. I had mine resprayed by Carlos and the logo is gone again. Anyone know how much to send it out for a nice polishing?

Mine's showing signs of the paint chipping off too. I'd like to have it freshened up as well.

I don't think it's the salt though; as my car has only seen snow once - ironically when I was in chicago in April/07 to get retuned @ AMS!

My IC never came with the logo painted. If I bring it in is it a freebie?

All re-stenciling is free for AMS made intercoolers, I'd assume radiator paint would work as well. We do not cover any shipping unfortunately so that would be at your expense. Thank you everyone.

I actually just repainted mine about a month ago due to the fading/chipping. You are correct, it is a long process if you do it correctly and want it to look good. I bought a roll of 3M fine line blue painters tape from the local auto body distributor and it probably took me an hour just to tape it off. I repainted it with black high-temp engine paint and followed it up with high temp clear to help it hold up. Lucky for me, my evo will be garaged this winter...road salt FTMFL!

it only took me and a buddy about 30 min to mask the ams off about a minute to paint it and then 15 minutes to let it dry and reinstall it. He is very **** about things like that too.... it look as good as new minus all the bug pieces ..... do it yourself, save some cash on shipping.
