2.3RR AMS GT850R back to back CNC Head Test!

Today we had a chance to do a back to back test against our already well performing AMS ported race head compared to our new AMS CNC Ported Race head. The results were GREAT!

Quoted from our tuner Chris Black:

"Excellent Results From The New AMS CNC Head!!

Jared brought his car back to us solely for the addition of the new AMS CNC head and a re-tune on 93oct pump gas. Ivan strapped the head on the car and I had an opportunity to get it on the dyno last night. The results are very impressive to say the least. The only thing changed on the car was the head. Everything else was left exactly the same. "

A few details:

AMS 850R kit
AMS Standard FMIC!!
AMS Intake Manifold

No other changes made at all
93oct pump gas
23.5 PSI

For those of you that like chewing on hard data, Here is the difference in Fueling at 23 psi.

Crazy results going from our current high performing ported head to our new CNC Ported head!

Were the runs done on the same night (Race Head vs. CNC)? Only reason I ask is that it was pretty cold out last night. Results look promising to say the least.

No this was not. He posted that it happened last night but this actually happened early afternoon yesterday. The only reason I know is heard it go down from my desk.

The runs are corrected though so the ambient air temp between when it was previously dynoed and now should not vary by much. Uncorrected they might.

on your car I would think over 35 WHP between the cams and head. I think thats being conservative too.

Very nice #'s, is the dip in HP around 6400 due to the fueling flattening?

What are the number differences? I'm in iraq and I can't see the pictures because of web filtering.

The valve train is the same in the two heads. the porting is just that much better on the CNC head.

This head gained a peak of 23 hp and 13ft lbs for the gentleman that cannot see the image.

for those of us who like to crunch hard numbers...do you have timing/ignition changes too?
have you done any combustion chamber work? curious of change in burn-rate/flame propogation (just ballparking improvement)

I can tell you that this new CNC head does run more ignition timing than the previous head that was on the car. My timing values are back into what I would consider a much more 'reasonable' range.
