The Blue Demon 2.3RR 35r gets a race gas tune... Sick power band inside!!

Some of you may remember this car:

I put it back on the dyno to get the race gas portion of the tune dialed in. It made some pretty good power on pump gas a while back, and I'm not sure that I posted that up either. Anyways the final 93oct and q16 gas tunes are both pictured below. Results are great for a nice conservative road racing tune that will ensure longevity and reliability of the power plant. I will say that I am very impressed with the power it is making at 30psi.

The most important specifics of the build are:

AMS 2.3RR motor
AMS 35R Turbo kit
AMS VSR intake manifold
AMS Standard FMIC
AMS 3" straight through exhaust
1000cc injectors
AEM EMS
~22 psi on 93oct
~30psi Q16

Wow! Some crazy powerband up top on Q16!!!!

I was going to tune my car with some Q last week, but when I got to the dyno shop they had just ran out of it. Man I was pissed, but oh well, C16 ain't that bad .

I wish I had the cash to turn my car like that......then I would be the real BlueDemon . Good job AMS!!!

Stock 35R or HTA? Why is power level so little on pump gas should make at least 550 with how that engine bay looks

Guys awesome car for sure.

Im curious...when he is not running race fuel does he use the regular tank instead of the fuel cell? If that is the case...is he running a double walboro for the 93 numbers? Im always curious about fuel set ups.

Congrats on some nice numbers.

im going out on a limb here to say its a road race car the tunes are much more conservative as in zero knock versus the all out dyno or drag tunes having several counts of knock being okay,,,, my power levels from drag to lapping day seem to be around 40-50 whp different on a small turbo ,so on this beast it will range even more and at 22 psi id say that 450 number is excellent props to ams job very well done , spectacular powerband.

You are right its a road racing car not drag so the tune is safe almost 500hp @ 22lbs is good. I was reading people making 550-600 on pump but at 26-30 lbs. You guys going to replace that VSR with an F1?

Unfortunately looks is not an accurate indicator of horsepower... More on this later

There is no regular fuel tank on this car. It has just the fuel cell. Both walbro fuel pumps are on for both of the tunes.

480whp for roadracing, on 93octane, with the level of safety that the car has is quite amazing on 22 psi. You are correct, this car is a bit conservative, because when you have a road race car, or you actively participate in racing events you understand that 50whp wont make or break you, however a broken motor will!

I don't think we need to make any more additions to this car at this point. Sure, we could strap on a CNC head, different cams, an F1-I manifold, and a slightly larger turbo and make some more dyno numbers, but I think that the car already has quite a significant amount of power for its intended purpose!

Did you guys do the cell install? Which cell is he using? I've been arguing with people for awhile now that, on an evo, a cell in the boot is ok and won't create a severe"pendulum effect" a lot of these shops are telling me from their experience with other cars.
