just letting everyone know if you run the ETS intercooler with an AMS VSR intake manifold and uicp, it's a joke trying to get the piping to work. I'm not sure whats up with the whole set up or it's just me but i've had to do alot of cutting brackets and order a whole new coupler to get it to KINDA work

the piping is designed to bolt up to the ams intercooler or factory intercooler. ams parts will only bolt up with more ams parts lol

I guess the lower pipe could be modified easy enough but jeez... it's such a pain in the *** to have to really hack up all these parts.

Our UICP for stock intake manifold and VSR intake manifold is made to bolt up to the stock FMIC as well as our upgraded FMIC core. If the ETS FMIC is not made to bolt up to the stock piping then it will not work with our UICP.

I had an AMS IC till this past sunday and then switched to the ETS 4" IC and I also have the AMS UICP. The only problem I currently see is that I need a 90degree elbow. reducer 3" to 2.5 .

The outlet on the ETS IC is 3" and the AMS UICP is 2.5. The ETS IC is a bit longer and the outlets are straighter for the most part whereas the AMS on curves down like the stock one.

Easy answer is to sell the ETS intercooler, and switch to the AMS one I switched from a 5" thick ETS core, to the AMS Race core witch is smaller 4", but gained spool up and lowered intake temps. its not allways about the size.

I haven't had the chance to see an AMS UICP, So i can't really comment on it. I know Josh who posted up above can make the upper pipe work on our intercooler with a 3.0" to 2.5" 90 degree coupler, which we have in stock =)

If anyone has questions, I can try to help.

Does the AMS pipe curve upwards towards the intercooler?

Thanks,
Michael

That could be cause of the shorter LICP. I also don't want to pay 1700 for a race core. That was the price that I last remember unless they changed it.

yeah, I got my ETS intercooler through map for 350$ new. I don't know about you guys but i don't have a billion dollars to spend on AMS intercoolers even if they are "8 sec" proven. I'm broke enough running the VSR intake mani. not hating on AMS stuff btw.

Hey epson1, the solution to the quote in your sig is to shop at a different store.
