*AMS PRODUCT RELEASE* Cast End Tank EVO VII-IX Front Mount Intercooler

Without further adieu we are proud to finally offer our newly revised EVO VII-IX front mount intercooler now with cast end tanks!

The AMS EVO VII/VIII/IX Front Mount Intercooler is the best performing direct bolt on you can buy. The same durable, race proven intercooler core we used on our record setting Time Attack EVO, proven efficient to 650 whp. This intercooler has over 80% more internal flow area than its stock counterpart, works with stock and some aftermarket piping and even allows you to retain the front bumper beam!

This AMS Intercooler now features cast aluminum end tanks for added durability with smoother features and geometry. Designed by our engineering team using Solidworks (3D CAD software) these A356 T6 alloy aluminum end tanks have improved flow over sheet metal end tanks and include gusseted brackets to prevent cracking or failure. We go beyond our competition to ensure quality. Each AMS Intercooler is hand TIG welded in a jig for a perfect fit and pressure tested to 50 psi to ensure maximum performance.

We tested many intercooler cores to find the best performing core available. The super efficient 3.5" thick AMS Intercooler even out flows the competitions 4” core and provides better fitment. With a cross section flow area of 45 inches square this is the largest intercooler on the market that fits without cutting the bumper beam. There are other "more affordable" intercoolers on the market that start out at a 3" thick core that you can upgrade to 3.5" or thicker but the 3.55" STANDARD AMS Intercooler still out performs the competition without any cutting of your bumper!

Exclusive Features
  • 80% more internal flow area than stock
  • Flows more CFM than the competition’s even larger “Race” cores
  • Best performing intercooler on the market and doesn’t require removal of front bumper beam!
  • Highest quality, most durable mounting on the market utilizing all 3 factory mounts
  • Will bolt up to your stock piping or any aftermarket pipe kit that is designed for the stock intercooler.
  • Bar and plate style core, the best performing on the market
  • All AMS intercoolers are pressure tested after assembly to 50 psi
Kit Includes
  • Intercooler
  • Silicone couplers to fit a wide variety of intercooler piping
  • Hose clamps
Specifications
  • 12.4" tall, 20" wide (28" with end tanks) and 3.55" thick
  • 1250 cfm flow and only 1 psi pressure drop at 650 whp
  • Comes With the Black "AMS" Painted Logo
  • Slight trimming of plastic under tray required
  • Weighs 20lbs.
Applications
  • Mitsubishi Evolution 7, 8, 9
  • Fits all USDM, JDM and European Models

EVO IX Owners Please Note: If you have an EVO IX please make note of the added installation step in the instructions

Don't be fooled by knock-offs that use inexpensive, inferior cores and construction. Those are cheap copies that don't offer real AMS performance and quality.

Many of you will notice the picture shows three intercooler couplers. The reason we do this is that depending on if you are running stock or aftermarket piping you will need a different combination of couplers. We give you these so there is no running out or last minute ordering needed. Currently the only after market piping that our kit has been proven to work with is AMS piping. Other kits should work but AMS cannot guarantee this.

We have a limited number of these in stock as we are in full production of these pieces. Please keep in mind there might be a small delay in shipment from the time the order is placed.

Thank you and our sincerest thanks for being so patient with this products release!

Eric

We have no plans of remaking the race IC with cast endtanks. I have no pictures installed on a car but if you have IX it will look the same as our previous model as the bumper blocks the end tanks. I will post up installed pics on an VIII as we get them.

That looks really nice. Although I believe the Nisei Competition is the largest intercooler to fit behind the bumper beam at 12.62x3.7x25. I would love to see a test between the two of them. The AMS intercooler has a huge weight advantage over the Nisei, that is a major plus.

+1 but an outside test would have to be performed. AMS im sure whould do the test but you know it would only have to come out in there favor. so it would not be to ideal as there not gonna spend all this time on this new fmic to have another fmic perform better ''if that happens''

im in no way picking sides. just stating that a private outside test would have o be done. i have a Nisei fmic that i can lown to someone if AMS wants to do a test.
