From: somewhere testing various tires, brakes, and suspensions.
Some guys here wanted to hit up Calabogie last year - dont think they made it out there. There is also Toronto Motor Speedway (or something like that)...Dream Car Garage uses it all the time.

Ok so there are tons of tracks in the Toronto area, lots of different places to start out and learn, and grow from there.
For beggingers I would reccomend Toronto Motorsports Park (cayuga) or Dunnville. Both are about 1.5hr from the GTA core.
They are flat, low speed road courses that aren't very technical however are very hard on brakes due to the short straight/tight corner layouts.
Once you start getting bored at those local tracks you can try Shannonville Motorsports park, which is a higher speed, more technical track, however still flat and pretty open. Cars roll here on occassion but that is only because they go off track sliding and end up catching a rut.
Mosport DDT is another development track that is pretty friendly, it also offers minor elavation changes which is fun. I haven't personally driven the DDT track but it looks fun.
Ok so now you're a real allstar whopping *** at shannonville and you want to step it up a notch. Well you can go to lapping days at Mosport GP track and experience what it feels like to be at one of the worlds legendary race tracks. Some refer to mosport as the North American nurburgring, there aren't many tracks like it. Tracks like mosport simply aren't built anymore because they are just too damn dangerous. The cornering speeds are in excess of 200km/h in a decently prepared sedan (my old race car used to go through corner 4 at 210km/h), and the back straight is an uphill climb that spans almost a full kilometre, its a really exciting track.
If you're willing to travel a little you can get into Calabogie near ottawa, as previously mentioned. It is a super fun track that mixes the fun elements of shannonville and Mosport. There is also Mt. Tremblant in Quebec that is fantastic, Watkins Glen in NY isn't too too far away.
Anyways, if you're interested in getting started with lapping don't hesitate to shoot me an email, there are a lot of lapping days at Dunnville this summer that I will be instructing at and would love to help you guys out.
I will also be looking for some Lancers to develop our custom brake ducting kits on, but i'll make a post about that in a little while when the foundation is a little more solid.
All the best, and as this is my first post, hi! I'm Sasha Anis, a Nissan guy.
