Question about canadian evo x gsr???
Im planing on buying a 2008 evo x and i am still undecided between the mr or the gsr but i hope to make the decision soon. I know the wing on the mr is the big wing, and i was told the gsr comes with the small wing, is there an option to get the gsr with the mr's wing????

Unfortunately, in Canada there is no factory option to get the MR wing on the GSR. But my dealer told me that one of their customers ordered the MR wing and had it mounted on the GSR. Not sure about cost though.

If I had the $$$ I would get the MR for sure. Canadian GSR have no options which sucks. With the MR you can get the Nav, projectors, RF sound system, etc. Plus I go to Vancouver all the time, and I like my auto in that BS traffic alot more then a 5-speed. Go big or go home

If you are worried about the wing, there are more and more aftermarket wings coming out all the time. Plus, if you look in the FS/wanted threads, there are always evo's and lancers wanting to trade their wings for the bigger or smaller one. Good luck

Buy a GSR and mod it....you can always add projectors, navigation, stereo, wing etc....however you CAN'T change the transmission (at least not for w/o spending a ridiculous amount of money).
I've heard over and over the SST transmission in the MR has difficulty dealing with heat and usage on track days. I race Solo and Time Attack, and I plan on continuing in the Evo. A car that needs to leave the track every 3-5 lips to 'cool' the transmission is useless.
Choose wisely, but remember, you only have one chance to pick the transmission that corresponds with your intentions (at least until an expensive aftermarket SST is available)

I think you've already made your choice, it seems you want the MR. If your gonna use it as a daily driver MR is the way to go. If your out for just fun factor and want to really push the car then the GSR is the way to go.
