OMVIC cant help, Mitsubishi Canada in 2006 opted out of the independent arbitration system. BMW and Mitsu are the only ones who do not participate.
So more or less your on your own.

Another thought is that there may be a media ombudsman in your vicinity.

In Edmonton, one such resource is Global TV's Trouble Shooter. A TV personality
who's assignment is to look into consumer complaints with a view to
bringing about some kind of satisfactory resolution for cases where
wrongs occured.

.

I wish I would have thought of this after I bought my car.
They kept giving me a "sweet" deal on my trade in, little did I know the more they gave me for my trade in they were working in on the price of the Evo.

Stay away from Southside Mitsubishi.

i dont really understand...did you not find it illogical when even after giving you a "sweet" deal for the trade in, the price of the evo was still as expensive??

or did you just not read the invoice before you signed???

Regardless whether or not the window may have closed regarding your
own situation, consider placing a call to pass along word of your experience.

If the resource is on the ball and takes down the information, perhaps it will
add weight towards a claim by someone else in the future?

While Mitsubishi may have opted out of arbitration, the province has the power
to act unilaterally.

When injured parties fail to submit their written complaints, elected figures get
to stand before the public and say they are unaware of any problems that need
to be addressed.

Even if it doesn't benefit your personal issue, be a good consumer and make
an effort to constructively publicize bad business practices before others get
stung, too.

With regards to OMVIC, it is not the dealership directly that they will go after. Every person who sells vehicles in Ontario is required by law to take the Georgian course as well as the written test. Once you pass that then a back ground check is done( to make sure you aren't a criminal). Once you pass that you have a licence to sell.
You ask what does that mean. Basic's are that the sales person is suppose to be looking out for the consumers interest. Ie: You say $xxx per mnth, for 60mnths but end up with $xxx for 84mnths. If you can prove you were mislead then by law the sales person is in hotwater, but more over the dealship will have to take resposibility for the actions done by the sales person . The big IF is that you need to prove it.
OMVIC takes these things very seriously. Again if you can prove wrong doing they will fight for you. I have seen 2 different times where OMVIC has come in and done a number on the dealers. Most of the time the managers and above know whats going on and lead the sales person on exactly what to do. But in the end the only person that pays is the sales person because management claims to not be aware of what happened.
