Info about Evo X Ecu, transmission etc. probleme.
Hi there !
Well I've own my lancer for about a year and a half now and very happy with it.
Since I got about 15 000km I didn't had real problem.
I'm interested in the Evo ever since (didn't got it a first because new are soooo expensive) now that the Used one popped out my interest in the X has renewed.
But when I go read the forums here for exemple that scares me a bit is the transmission that don't go in reverse or have hard time to shift and the dealer don't seems to what to do, a lot of ppl seems to have these issue. Because if I go out and buy one, probably that I won't care about the warranty since I would like to boost it a bit (maybe near 400hp or somehting since it's really cheap to do so), and that I don't use it a lot so it's gonna expire before I get a lot of mileage. So I would like a car that won't break on me, I mean normal repair is ok, but transmission failure no :S at least not on a car that is like 50 000+ $ at the door for 'base' Evo.
So here canadien owner do you get trouble with the tranny ? (or other major problem)
And for the modification, are they like most in the Usa bolt-on or we need something special for the Ecu or anything else ?
Have a nice day
