Sirius owners in Canada?

Anyone own and use Sirius Satellite radio in Canada? I'm taking a fishing trip into Ontario and wanted to know if I should bother taking my Sirius unit or not.

I'll be about 3 hours North of Int'l falls in Ignace Ontario. It's about 2.5 hours West of Thunder Bay on Rt 17.

Thanks!

You're driving from Seattle to Ignace? Man that's a long drive.

Is Sirius the sat radio with the dog as the logo? I have the feature on my deck, but I'm not subscribed.

do you mean a home unit or car unit? if it's an in car unit, then sirius won't work all the way to where you are going, but it should work up past barrie a while. i don't know exactly where the point is that it starts to fade out, but i do know that the signal strength is very strong in the GTA area. i would say that it will be useful for approximately 2 hours or so from when you cross the border into canada, though i am just guessing with the little feedback i get about range of use. on such a long haul i would definitely use it if i had it

Actually I have the unit where you can use it in your vehicle and/or home! I was just going to pack the home until along to use once we get to our distination in Ignace since we're not taking the Evo on the 17-hour 1000 mile trip! Whew, that might suck. I bet it wouldn't be 17 hours though .

Anyways, you think the home unit might be worthless then??

yes i don't think there is a hope in hell of getting sirius up where you are going, that's why i asked which you were planning on doing. i'm pretty sure you would get as far as barrie or a little further with it in your car, but not at your destination. you can try their website and ask someone how far north the coverage is.

I believe you have to be a resident in the United States to get a subscription. I heard it might come up to Canada soon.. but i hear a lot of stuff.. and it just goes out the other ear.

You need a reciever in your trunk or somewhere and a little antenna

A friend of mine has the Satellite Radio in his Integra , but only because his parents live in Texas and pay for his subcription.
