COBB v402 OTS Maps for 2011-2014 Evo X GSR and MR

Hey guys! Over the past few weeks we’ve been listening to your feedback and making adjustments to the recently released v401 Evo X OTS maps in hopes of creating an offering that works well for everyone. We now have Beta v402 OTS maps available for the USDM 2011-2014 Evo X GSR and MR.

We’ve made changes to enhance drivability and to address the lean conditions and overboosting cases that our customers have reported while using the v401 maps. Changes have also been made to the Tip-In Transient tables to improve take-off issues with both GSR and MR vehicles. Those of you who were seeing knock when accelerating from a stop should also see those corrections subdue.

Make sure your Accessport firmware is up to date using Accessport Manager, and the maps should then be on your device. You can also download the OTS maps off of the maps section of the COBB Tuning website.

****The V402 maps have been updated slightly for vehicles still experiencing some knock at initial take off. The maps have been updated in the link to V402a. If you were experiencing that issue, please re-download the map and give them a try.****

*****V403 maps are now hosted on our website. They have changes made to the idle tables to correct some erratic idle issues. These maps should perform the same as V402a but with a more stable idle.*****

NOTE: The maps have been moved to full release and can now be downloaded off of the COBB Tuning website.

Thank you,
COBB Mitsubishi Team

Great and thanks. I just downloaded the maps for the 2011 evo x mr. The stage1 93 v402 map has a description that says acn91 octane. So did the map get switched or did the description get switched?

Thanks again

This was simply a description that did not get changed and it has since been fixed.

Are there actually tunes out there specifically for the '14 now? I know when I ordered my Cobb unit through AMS just last week when they did their in-house MAP tuning and whatnot for my specific parts, it's running off a 2013 Evo X on my unit, when my car is actually a 2014. I've been assured the 2013's run "similiar" to the '14s, but I'd feel more comfortable knowing the ECU flash was actually meant for my 2014 model and not the year prior, as I've already picked up just how picky these cars are, and even the slightest difference in tune between the '13 and '14 could throw my car's performance off.

So does Cobb actually have open release MAP support for the '14s, or are all issues concerning the 2014's still in Beta?

I'm just wondering this as if so, I'll be contacting AMS and letting them know I'd like my tune switched over to the correct year instead of running a '13 ECU flash on my '14.

Just gave this map a go and it feels much better on my MR from standstill. Seems to be hitting boost target more accurately too. Will start logging tomorrow. Good job!

P.S. will we get to see stage 1&2 maps with the COBB SF intake?

That are not doing an sf map, but will help you modify v402 map with ATR.

The 2013 and 2014 Evo's are identical as far as tuning is concerned. There is no difference in the 2013 and 2014 V402 maps so you should be good to go. All of these maps are still considered beta but we have been receiving pretty positive feedback so far and they have already been tested pretty extensively.

Thanks for that info Eric.

I've been told both by AMS and the Mitsubishi dealer I bought my MR at, (the guy who runs the dealership races professionally and owns 3 Evos) that Mitsu had made a few changes from the '13s over to the '14 models, but I was never told how extensive these "changes" were, or what these changes even are. So naturally I was just unsure if this effected the ECU in any way between the models. Glad to know as far as tuning is concerned the 13s and 14s are compatible with each other.

Eric, first of all than you for providing me the ACN 91 v402 map for my 2010 MR. Last night, i modified the MAF scaling table to match the MAF scaling from the v108 injen-specific map. I also took a look at other tables to see what differences were b/w the old v108 map and the new one. I noticed that the timing curve is less aggressive, and the fueling map is leaner. Can you please elaborate on what changes were made to the v402 map when compared to the v108? I will install and test the map within the next day or two, as time permits. Thanks again...

The load calculation tables have been massaged and refined quite a bit on the V402 so while visually the fuel map looks leaner it isn't necessarily. We are just targeting different values based on the load calculation tables.

Most of the other changes can be found at the bottom of the map notes.

The link has been updated with V402a maps for customers that were experiencing knock during initial take-off.
