Make it as light as the VI and it will be a winner!

^ Sadly, according to several magazines, the car will be larger and heavier and will have more of a luxury feel to it. Remember, the Gallant and Eclipse are being discontinued, so the Lancer will have fill several shoes.

^--- I honestly think the magazines have no clue what they're talking about. Hell at this point, I feel is still a bit undecided.

Even the X went through several rumor changes just in a few years.

^ Yeah, it is pretty hard to believe most things, whether in magazines or on the internet. I am kind of ticked because I bought a 2011 Evo X GSR in August thinking that there would be no more Evo X's sold. I really didn't want to buy the car then because I knew I would store it from November to April. I went on information from this site, the other site and some online articles. I just looked at a 2012 Evo X and could have gotten it for a similar price to the one I bought.

Wouldn't it be kind of hilarious if the Evo XI actually used an updated 4B11T on a lighter platform and this whole diesel/hybrid thing was just a ruse on Mitsubishi's part?

The 2011 is the first complete X where most of the bugs were ironed out. Believe me, going from an 08 to an 11 for me was a big difference. I couldn't be happier with my '11. And what are we missing??? Some dash trim and a shift light. I'm extremely glad I got my '11, especially for .99% financing. Find a '12 for that.

I paid cash for mine, so the financing really wouldn't come into play. The door panels are much nicer. I sat in an Octane Blue 2012 GSR and I like it. Not much different from my 2011. However, I could have saved money on insurance and storage costs by not buying until next spring.

Might not be so bad...imagine all that torque from a diesel motor AND an electric motor :-)

Would performence shops start to employ or partener with electrical engineers? To develop performance for the elctric motors? Or will they just focus on the diesel engine? As a class we built a electric beetle in HS 1988 and it would snap your head back all the way to its top speed of 22. It was very crude but the torque was great. It only lasted 15 minutes of drive time but it showed promise. Im looking forward to the development of the XI

That's not good news. Mind if I ask what magazines you've seen this?

Guys, I wouldn't believe anything that is stated right now. Until mitsubishi comes out with an official announcement of the details of the car, everyone is speculating... ESPECIALLY magazines.

Look up shock jock, that's exactly what these magazines are doing imo.

From 2006-2011 all of the winning cars from Le Mans have been diesel. I have a lot of faith that Mitsubishi will be able to pull off something great with the XI.
