when did this concept come out, this thing is hottt. Also if this uses a subaru flat 4 motor i want absolutely nothing to do with it. All subaru motors are utter garbage past 400whp.

I am honestly very excited about a diesel hybrid.
Diesels are far superior to gas motors. Seeing 3500 diesel trucks run 12 sec ET is nothing new.
At first hybrid scared me but looking at the new Spark EV putting down 400 lbs of torque I’m thinking there may be hope.
I’m only worried about the weight of the battery system. All manufacturers are forgetting that weight is the saving grace that helps all stats on a car, hopefully the fr-s is reminding everyone of this.

So with Nissan coming out with the R-Hybrid technology and now Toyota showing a concept Yaris R with the following specs:
- 300HP 1.6L L4 Turbo FWD paired with:
- 2x 60HP electric RWD
- "Super capacitor" for KERS-style power boosts
- Sequential gearbox
I don't know what this Yaris would cost but I'm guessing it will be easily double that of a normal Yaris, but it will probably be an absolute beast, given that a regular Yaris weighs 2400 lbs.
So if Mitsubishi waits until 2015 for a Evo XI Hybrid, literally everyone in the car industry will have something better
That's normal for Mitsu, though.

Holy crap! An AWD 420hp Yaris would absolutely crush any stock Evo.. Even if the battery's are heavy, it has about 1000 pounds to catch up to a X. I mean, yea the BRZ is light, but an extra 220hp in that little Yaris would leave most cars in the dust..
