evo or no evo the world edition 2015 lancer which has been in the works for some time will be out soon, most likely at the paris auto show in October. they have been working with Nissan and are selling a reskinned g37 in japan, its very possible that the next lancer could share many parts with the sentra. nobody knows at the this point what the next evo will or will not be other than whatever they have said in the past about a possible diesel hybrid.
its also very likely that they will announce the lancer and if there is an evo on that chassis, it will be revealed a year later.
its common business practice. anyone who says they know anything else is full of crap

Worth the read. Everyone opposed to the hybrid evo, will be opposed to the hybrid supra and hybrid GTR. Hopefully the hybrid Evo comes out before or during the Toyota and Nissan developments.
I don't like the idea of hybrid cars, but if it can achieve 30mpg average with the same power output of the evo x, I think it's a game changer.

You are vastly underestimating hybrid technology. The Outlander PHEV gets 125mpg. Sure thats when limping around, but still. http://mitsubishioutlanderphev.myevblog.com/

The 3000GT was never well received. When compared to the other Japanese performance cars of its day (Supra, RX7, 300Z) it came up short. Now that the Supra and RX7 are due to return (~2017), and Nissan has the all mighty GTR, I don't see the need for Mitsubishi to embarrass itself again with another 3000GT.

If you watched Best Motoring, on a slow-medium track like Tsukuba, The first-gen GTO had a sizeable lead on the field over 5 laps.
2nd and 3rd gens were watered down.

Stock for stock, when it first came out, it's competition was the S6 FD, the R32, whatever Toyota had, probably the MkIII Supra, whatever highest power Honda was there during the early 90's and Subaru didn't even make the cut.

I would say the 3rd Gen Rx7 and Acura NSX have aged well. They have clean lines and still look modern. The 3000GT still looks like a stretched eclipse

"Early VR-4′s could crack the sixty mark in about six seconds, which was fairly fast for the time. The problem was that all that technology didn’t come for free: the VR-4 was one heavy sonofa*****. Even the early VR-4′s weighed in around 3800lbs, which is a lot even by today’s standards. The heavy turbo sideways V6 also meant the VR-4 had a much more pronounced front weight bias than competitors like the Supra, 300ZX, RX-7, 968, and Corvette, resulting in rental-car understeer when you pushed it really hard. "It still offers great performance, but it is by no means a great performance car."

Do you think it was it worth the $45,580 sticker price 1996? Adjusted for inflation that is the equivalent of $66,841.04 in 2013.
