05 evo v/// times from AK

I managed to get a 12.6 at 110 with a 1.8 60ft launching at only 4500 rpms. all I have ont he car is a AFC-2, a cone filter, and a cat delete. from what i have been reading this is decent. I was really surprised to see what the eevo could do with a small tune on it.

Not bad! Had you ever run the car when it was stock or closer to stock? If so, what kind of times did you get then? Just curious... Congrats on the 12.6, that's a decent time for sure with just a few mods!

thanks for the congrats man!!!! no, i have never run the car as a stock unit, from what i have seen up here a stock car ( EVO ) can run anywhere from 14.0 (crap *** driver) to 13.0!!!!! mph is an unknown to me with those times. running conditions up here are great since we're always sea level. hoping to run a low twelve. I got a shop working on a custom ti exhaust right now. we'll see how it turns out

Nice... Yeah I'm sure that with just a good exhaust setup and perhaps a slight bump in boost or change in ECU, you will be looking at a low 12. Pretty cool having a car so quick with just a few choice mods

It seems that the 2005 models are really running freakin' strong from the start (stock), I mean they seem to be hitting low 13s at the track, but what is even more impressive is the 103-105MPH trap speeds. They also seem to be making more power with minor mods than 2003/2004 EVOs.

Decent? Naw, that's really good, especially your trap speed.

yeah. it is strange to see a very minor mod'd 05 pull way harder than any of the other evo's up here. I mean there are ppl that have way more stuff that me and now im the fastest in AK with only a couplet hings and way less that a G into the car. needless to say ppl were mad at me. but let them be hahahaha thanks for all the congrats and things guys. its nice to find a forum that doesnt grill you for all the details of the runs you make. what i need to do now is make my 60' better than before and run a 12.5 or a 12.4. any suggestions? also i have read that 05 evo's put power to the ground better. prolly ACD. the dyno numbers say about 240-250 awhp. pretty impressive. makes the sti's look bad hahaha.

Wait a minute, was that original 12.68@110 on race gas, too? If so, then that was a very important piece of information you left out. I was wondering how you made 4 more mph than I did with just a cat delete (this mod doesn't make much sense), but if you were on race gas, then that would explain a lot.

I'm surprised you gained nothing with the MBC. Unless you messed up the S-AFC settings, you should have been able to get another few mph for two reasons: slightly more max boost, and non-tapered boost on the top end of every gear. I'm surprised nothing changed, but then again, the track/weather conditions may not have been the same.

My suggestions on your next mod would be to complete the exhaust (at least cat-back), a JDM MR BOV, and a fuel pump. This way you will have free-flow exhaust, a BOV that can accurately hold your higher boost, and enough fuel to tune more aggressively with the S-AFC. All of this on race gas with the 05 could get you to 12.0, I believe. I plan on doing it soon, so we'll see what happens.

well yet another update on the fastest EVO in AK to date. I have achieved a 12.45@109. 1.7 60ft. and a .06 reaction. we go by .0 up on reactions instead of .500. all i did was add race gas and messed a lil with the boost (about 21psi). I want a higher trap speed but I dunno how I got the 110 the first time out. Im guessing that with a 110 trap again I could be looking at 12.3's. well just thought I would update. CHEERS!!!

Finally someone else running times like me. I ran 12.3 with exhaust, safc, hks drop in and 110 octane. With a 1.71 60ft and a 111 trap. Good job now maybe that pain in the as warrtalon will believe my times.
