10 Second EVO at Cal Speedway

Congrats to Doug Parks and his 10 Second EVO. I have seen his car do atleast 8-10 passes and this pass was by far his quickest. When he went down the strip I knew it was going to be a real good time, and it was, a 10.9@122MPH. So Congrats for a great time. In case your wondering about the trap speed, for some reason all the cars seem to run lower traps at California Speedway. For instance a Supercharged Mustang 5.0 ran a 10.7@123MPH and a 2003 Cobra ran a 11.2@121MPH. So anyways, great job Doug Parks

I wish I could have been there to see that 10 second run. Fontana is a slow track. I always trap about 2 MPH slower at Fontana compared to the other So Cal tracks.

Stroker motor and 35r. I'd like to know specifically which stroker Doug is running: the 4g64 block or just the stroker crank, pistons, and rods like I am getting from AMS.

Slower traps yes; but his low trapspeed is a combination of hittin the rev limiter and the stroker motor. Tq equals gettin there faster and stroker equals less reving ability. If he could have the benefits of both his car would trap substantially higher. If he could keep it in 4th till 9000 rpm the trapspeed would reflect the true power of this beast and his Et would be significantly lower. Fontana is a lil slower but in this case there are other factors that were responsible for the trapspeed not being commensurate with Dougs Et.

Yeah it would have gone a lot faster on the next pass but Doug took the smart route and went home with his 10 second slip and a still running car...

Here is a video of the pass (right-click, save-as):
