based on the 'ol 1350 rule, your doing pretty damn good.

The 1350 rule works like this:

1- take the 1/4 e/t and multiply by the 1/4 mph, the closer to 1350 the better.
you come in at 1369. I, on the other hand, a far cry from 1350 with a 1418.

2- take 1350, divide by 1/4 mph = best likely 1/4 e/t based on that 1/4 mph.
ie- 1350 / 110.72 = 12.19

3- take 1350, divide by e/t = best likely mph needed to run the e/t
ie- 1350 / 12.368 = 109.15 mph

So, your definitely in the ballpark.

i mean this more as a general statement, not so much as your perticular driving capabilities. i believe the mph rocks' for a no cam car. im basing this off of other posts of 1/4 times.

The 1350 rule works like this:
Thank you for the explanation. I understood this rule in concept, but I had not actually seen the numbers behind it. I have always been really good at getting much better times than most at a given mph, and that was mainly due to extremely good launches and then great shifting. On my 90 Talon, I once hit a 12.1@110 on a 1.63 60'. This equals 1331, which is BELOW 1350, which is extremely good when following this rule. On the other hand, in my Evo with the stock clutch, I only cut a 1.76 60', so although that puts me in the "good" range with a 1363, I am still capable of a 12.69 according to this rule, so my ET is not impressive for the mph.

Now that I know the math behind it, I can use empirical data rather than subjective opinion.

Are you talking about my MPH or yours? I wasn't sure, since you quoted me here. I agree that your MPH is good for not having cams, but I still don't know if you're an 03-04 or an 05. In an 05, I think we all can hit 110 pretty easily, but on an 03-04, most people don't.

Great formula... last year I did 12.8 @ 107 (1.75 60') with BRstg1, which is 1369 (pretty good). So if I'm shooting for a 12.0 with similar driving, I'd need to go 114.8 (1369/12). I think I may be able to do that on race gas.

If I can hit 115, I'll be 11.9 (if I stay at my "target" 1369 ) I love this ratio in theory... now if I can only make it happen!!!

i like this formula, with my cams i should gain about 5-6 mph, which should be a 11.8-11.9 right?
