a 1.71 60 ft time and 106 trap speeds is good for a 12.7 or so..I was running 12.6-12.7 at the same track with 1/8 mile at 8.1x compared to your 8.3x and my 60ft times were 1.8X and high 1.7x compared you your low 1.7x, so you had a full tenth better 60 ft time but at the 1/8th I was 2 tenths better...The numbers indicate you car is down on power and you could be shifting faster, mabye try putting the stock BOV back on.I am running only a dynoflash mail-in and a test pipe..

Ended up coasting the last bit at 104 and a 13.5. So if I didnt miss 4th, that run would have been good for 12s. Eh next time.

But check out that 60' time. 2 runs in a row I was in the 1.7x range. The other run was a 13.1. Yes I know some people have gotten stockers to go that fast. But this is my daily driver, and I was 65 miles from home, so I wasnt out to break anything that night.

I have been talking with Warrtalon, 4th is prby pulling timing and my shift may just really suck I came from Vettes and Foci - hey it was NA, but had a build trans. I could row those gears in those cars (different yes, but same principle), but this car doesnt seem to like it when I go fast. I have gotten locked out a few times. And I dont want to eat the gears. But I dont really care that much - next time I go I am going to shift until either I bleed or the car runs what I think it can. I have a coworker that lives up there. So hey - if something goes wrong - well at least I have a place to sleep - right?

Update to the the faud -

Went to Lapeer last weekend with my brother for this summers competition with his 98 z28 and my 05 Evo. Good news - I won - big.

My brothers best run:

60 ft - 1.963
594 ft - 7.919
1/8 et - 8.405
1/8 mph - 92.61
1/4 et - 12.816
1/4 mph - 110.28

You could hear and see the Camaro spinning thru 1st and 2nd on his summer tires, even at 20 psi per tire it was spinning hard.

My best run:

60 ft - 1.668
594 ft - 7.386
1/8 et - 7.879
1/8 mph - 91.31
1/4 et - 12.193
1/4 mph - 113.45

My mods - (1/2 tank 100 Oct. Unleaded - and no spare tire)
- Greddy Type-S BOV
- RMR Air Induction
- Apexi GT Catback
- DC Sports Downpipe
- Hallman MBC @ 25 psi
- Walbro 255
- NGK BPR7EIX
- ACT Street/Strip Clutch
- TurboTrix Flash
- AMS Lower IC Pipe
- Tire Pressure 29 front, 32 rear
- 5k Limiter ON

I am pretty much done engine wise, I will be going to either ported header or equal-tube header later this summer. And if I break 11.99 Ill have to looking a cage.

The z28 will be getting slicks and traction bars as well as a 3.73 rear gear change.

Shouldn't need a cage until 11.49. Why header before cams? Cams are far more useful.

Really? The track had 11.99 posted for the cage. And were annoucing it quite often.

I would do cams, but Id have to find someone to retune my computer for them.

The track can make its own rules, but the standard is 11.49 per NHRA.

Not doing cams because you would need a retune? That's a first! Don't let something that minor keep you from adding 30whp/30wtq overnight.

Haha, well I am in MI now, not NJ, so I am not close to all the tuners. Closest ones to me now are AMS (scratch that BR Racing is close to my rents place in Ohio)

Ill have to do some digging to see what I can find.

You can always do a mail-in flash if you want to stay with TT, or you can get custom flashed by Al when he's at BR - he goes there once a month.

The Z is heavier and is losing some trap with the spinning maybe. They are probably very close in terms of power, but the Evo makes MUCH better use of it!

Yes, his car is still heavier, we did totally gut the inside, but he prby has about 200 lbs over my car still.

The z28 will also be seeing a dyno this year to get numbers. Im guessing he has about 350-360 at the wheels (on a dynojet), once rolling or on a freeway his car is no joke. Just off the line dont bother flooring it, youll just smoke the tires.

AWD is insane on traction. Our racing is such a great example of it.

Ill be spending most of my time now working on his car with him. Im hoping we can get it to near my car in times while keeping it streetable. Besides, it keeps the racing interesting.

SmikeEvo,

I don't know the mods that your brother has, but consider the following:

Vigilante stall 3200 will cut his 1/4 mile times by .5 seconds from the get go
150 TNT wet shot
Y-pipe and catback
Lid
Fuel pump
DR's

With the above mods many on Ls1tech.com have run low 11's on drag radials over and over at 120mph+ add a cam and 10's are fairly common all on good ole pump gas!!

Very very easy to make Ls1's very fast!!

i took on a friend (when I was stock) with a 98 z28 auto with just a flowmaster catback...and from a roll he pulled on me by 2 car lengths from a 30-40-5mph roll (3 from 4th gear). but from a launch i killed him...his tires were bald, respectivally. but after a mininum tune, i was pulling 2 car lengths on him from a roll. the last time we did it from a dig i pulled 4 car lenths by top gear...but he was catching up. mind you, these runs were done at his ranch house which has a nice 3 mile strip of fresh pavement.

they are nasty quick cars though.

For some reason my brother is against the stall converter (EDIT: he corrected me, he wants one, but its low on his list). Im totally for it. He is worried about streetablility, its his daily driver.

He has (and Ill prby miss something here) -
- Eb Longtube headers, 3" y pipe no cats, 3" flowmaster exhaust (but will be going back to the SLP LM as soon as we get the LM2 muffler for it)
- Intake lid, free cold air mod (cutting the lower box)
- Stage 2 comp chip

And will have:
- boxed traction bars
- 3.73 gearing
- drag tires for the strip
- stall conv. (last)

At the track there was an SS with a 125 shot and the same mods as my brother, he was running 12.09 but on slicks, but my brother is trying to get there without NO2.
