it sounds like you have lots of potential, just to make life simple i would do the extra passes and if you dont get your 60 ft near 1.8 or 1.7 , call you buddy who does more drag racing than you and give him a few passes. you already know fast cars get beat by slower cars with better drivers. if he cant get you into the 12s then you need to start and check the hardparts. enjoy. you will get better with more seat time. I too can understand your hesitation of abuse on a stock clutch but really you can get a few runs out of it with out destroying it if you let it cool down and then dont feather is , just a quick release almost dump. rev to like 4500-5000rpm.

u need too launch it more agressively about 5500 with some slight slip off the line , and definitly with the cams and head job u need to rev higher 7600 to 8000 if the turbo is still pushin air, forget about power shifting, oh and the headwork and the large frontmount could be holding u back on the stock turbo

With my stock clutch I held the revs at 4,000 and on the second amber started to give it aggressive throttle and was sure to be alll the way out or very close to all the way out before it reached 4500. This was the only way I could launch the car without some wheelspin or a roasted clutch.. If you slip the stock clutch to were it feels right most likely it will slip beyond the 60ft mark which obviously is not good. I also adjusted the tire pressure and took some out of the front with hopes of reducing wheel hope, I never had an issue so I guess it worked.
