with the rev limiter bouncing off the best you can cut is 1.8's but still a good launch

sorry you can do better - try 1.7x....personally I have had as low as 1.71, but normally I am around 1.76-7...

Oh my my my

If you're worried about braking then dont drag race. If you want results put that throttle to the floor hit that 5k rev limit and let her rip. Dont have to dump it but kinda slip it out fast and hit the shifts fast.

Saywhen - wrong, and wrong, and wrong...so you think a 5k stutterbox launch and 1.71 60' is bad. It all comes down to how good the car is set up and how the driver can use what hes/shes has. 03/04 did not have this feature. Only 05 and up. 5000K works fine for those who know how to use it - period.
You have got to be kidding me. For those who drag there cars consistant launches are important. With a 5000 rev limiter intact you are working with what mitsu gave you to try and protect drivetrain problems. Detach the wire connector and launch that baby when you get to a set up where you have launch control as an option then you can play with the stutterbox launch rpms to get it perfect for your car. Sorry I have not updated the cars I drive, I really don't care to change it but I drive an 05' now and was trying to learn to launch the car with out taking the rev limiter off but it simply doesn't work easily. Took it off and was able to launch it just like the 03'.

I disconnect mine for launches, too, but there are people who use it as a stutterbox and cut low 1.7s all the time with the occasional high 1.6x. Since I only hit 1.7s with the occasional 1.6 with 6k launches, I can't really say my method is better...it's just better for me.

I also have the launch limiter disconected.

I have found that the more power you make the lower you launch rpm needs to be. When the car was stock a 6k rpm launch worked very good. But if I tried that now all 4 tires will go up in smoke. With the power the car is making now 5k launches work. Its a fine line between bog and spin.

Every car is different, and the best way to find out what works for you is to go to the track. The 60' lights dont lie

Good luck and have fun

I have reconnected my rev limiter for daily driving. I don't like the way the rpm's drop slowly with it disconnected. I will disconnect it for drag racing only. Much easier to get to through the dimmer panel. Just put a little pressure on the top and it will fold down. I assume it was intended to be a coin holder like the 03' had.

glad your finally getting comfortable with the car, congrats. Over time you'll find better launches and easier on the drivetrain.

You know i used to think like that but then i figured two or three launches at 3k is the same as one good launch so might as well enjoy your launching.

pardon me i didnt read all the comments but THEY HAVE A LAUNCH CONTROL!!! lol

to enguage: stop car take out of gear put back in 1st press gas pettle to floor it will sit at 5000 rpms until you start to lift your foot off the clutch. once you do hold on (if you can launch it right.) just a quick let out let it slip a lil listen for the turbo once you do let go of it.
