Where you on race gas? I was running 93 oct and all my runs. What i dont get is why my car is running fast in the 8th but top end is hurting? I usually do 88-89.58 in the 8th but 1/4 mph sucks!!

It's probably due to when/where you shift. You have no topend because of no cams - it's normal.

Yes, I was on race gas. That was before I was flashed and was using an SAFC for tuning. I think I ran 12.52@108.5 on pump gas that day in the heat and my narrowband SAFC tuning.

Skilmatic, we'll never be similar, because I don't have a IX. IXs are much faster, especially with mods. I wouldn't put 94mph as your goal, because that is highly unlikely. 92mph in the 1/8th would be a good goal. At that point, you'd have gone faster than I ever have in my Evo, which was 91.3mph in the 1/8th.
Yeah but with your good driving and alky I think it would be a fair race. I mean I have the basic setup you do in my 9 but without alky. You would prolly get me at the tree cause my rt are around .1-.2 very consistently.

Yeah, I had one leftover from my DSMs, so it was my first mod. I went 12.8 with just the SAFC, then eventually went 12.01 with it before I ever got flashed.

'90 TSi AWD = 12.1@113
'91 GS-T FWD = 12.5@110
'93 TSi AWD = 12.4@108

I'm the low 12s master, but I've never hit an 11.

Yeah no kidding haha. Why havent you hit the 11? Is it because you just dont want to push your car that far?

Huh? It's because I haven't gone fast enough. I push my cars as hard as they can be pushed. I just haven't gotten that perfect run yet. I could go with a bigger turbo, I guess, but I like to keep things simple and inexpensive.

No thats what I meant. I meant pushing your car as far as modding. Not driving pursay.

But yeah simple is nice....... for awhile hahhahaa then you will want more.

Nah, I'm quite happy with instantaneous spool, great drivability/reliability, and being able to go from the drag strip to the road course to the auto-x course and then to the grocery store with no issues or changes other than switching tires.

Yeah it is nice. But thats why u have more than 1 car

However, having a streetable low 12sec car is sweet. I am loving my setup right now. A matter of fact I just raced a evo 8 that was modded more than I was but IMHO it was a crappy choice of mods and I smoked it by 3-4 cars in a drag.

Only 1 car for now, so it has to be able to do everything while remaining reliable. In a few years, it will be paid off and will become a dedicated race car.
