Your launches have nothing to do with the weather. You are trying way too hard to justify the poor launching and weak traps. I have pulled the same 60's while running 12.1s in 95-degree weather with 80% humidity (way worse than your conditions) as I have when running 12.0s on 60-degree days with low humidity. The traps were lower in hotter weather, but by 1-2mph, not 6-7mph and no change in 60'.

Best way to launch i have found (i have an sti, but it's basically the same) is blip the throttle from ~5.3K-~5.8K, then let out the clutch AS FAST AS YOU CAN.. Do not side step and drop the clutch, but pull your foot off the clutch VERY fast, i get consistant 1.6-1.7 60's using this method, with a best of 1.62 on stock tires.

No way to know through my computer screen. I'd have to run tests on the car, drive it myself on the dragstrip, then maybe drive it at ANOTHER dragstrip.

Some are just weaker than others from the factory due to the boost being lower than normal. You need a boost gauge to verify.

Way too hung up on the weather. I guess you just won't listen to those of us who have tons of experience already. The weather wasn't THAT bad, dude. I ran 13.1@104 in my stock 05 in 70 degrees, and plenty were faster than I...

The weather isn't going to have an effect on the 60' at all. Weather also won't affect your car as much as you're thinking. I ran an 8.4 @ 82mph in my stock 05 with a higher temperature and a little higher elevation. It may be that the car isn't making all the power it should be, or it may be the driver. Which judging by the 60', it makes me wonder.

Let me also chime in and say that I have run the same 60fts when it was 60 during winter and now during summer it is like 80 with some humidity. The only difference was my traps and et's. My 60fts basically stayed the same. The easiest most effective way to improve your 60fts is first make sure you knwo what your doing then mess with the tire pressures.

You kinda have the right idea about launching but if you want the "perfect launch" you need to preload the clutch using the ebrake before you dump it, do a search to find out how. This netted me low 1.7's and ZERO clutch smell.

Also I'd like to chime in about the weather. I ran STOCK in about 35-40 degree weather and ran a 13.1@105.8, I then ran again with TBE, LICP, MBC in 70 degree weather with high humidity(about 60) and ran a 12.7 @ 106.2

Also, Give him a break about his username not upholding the truth. Honestly, WHO CARES? Could you nit-pick anymore?? He joined the site in 2/05 and got his evo in 8/06.

all in the technique, i,ve launched my car about ten times so far,(stock clutch, res. pill removed,ss line) on the stock 2 step (5k) with no clutch smell at all and a perfect launch everytime. Like i said its all in the tech. After 32 years of racing you get to learn somethings!

You don't need to preload the clutch. I pull 1.6's all day long with a 2step and the clutch restrictor pill still in place.

Yes, absolutely NO need for the e-brake - that just complicates things. I do pre-load the drivetrain, but that's DURING the launch itself right at the beginning.

No that I am saying you are wrong, but looking at this objectively if I were you I would take the restrictor pill off and then try to launch. This way you will know exactly 100% that the restrictor has nothing to do with better 60fts when launching.

taking out the pill and putting on the ss line made a huge difference in my car. NO more slipping unless i make it slip, consistant grabbing point, much more direct feel and much smoother shifting. This would be the first mod anyone should do if they are going to drive spirited on a daily basis. I did the samething on my 03 8 and had the same great results, then i put in an excedy twin. I plan on leaving the stock clutch in untill it goes and i think i would would put another stocker in if i get descent mileage out of the stock clutch. I,ve done around 10-12 launches so far off the stock 2 step with no clutch smell at all like i said before and everytime it was a perfect launch,(no smell, bogg etc.)

You guy's don't just DON'T GET IT..THE CAR ONLY WENT 99.88MPH!!!!! So with THAT MPH I'm Not putting enough HP down to Lower my 60'...and WARTALON I saw where YOU only went a TENTH faster in your 60' when YOU were bone stock!!

Now 60' Besides I had FOUR runs in with a CONSISTENT 99something MPH, and it's a BRAND NEW CAR..so that tells me that MITSB must have CHANGED the ECU Programing to LOWER Stock Boost/HP I guess do to Warrranty Issues

ANYBODY got any OTHER Brilliant Ideas why the Car isn't running the 102 MPH that it Should???? I Used 94 Octane Gas..Sea Level Track...Checked and TIGHTEND all the Boost Hoses....
