so many nice 50trim dynos, no track times

Most of those are 20g-9-5s, Dan.
Sgt Blamo, you're being unreasonable. First of all, that "friend" of yours is not the norm for IXs. How many other IXs do you see cutting 1.5 60's and running times like that? EXTREMELY FEW. Also, the 20g ist STILL just a stock IX turbo that has been modified. Why would you expect a half second to 3/4 second drop when it's still the same turbo? That's very short-sighted and irrational. The 20Gs have done very well for what they are - they never were claimed to be a big turbo upgrade. Try to stick with reality.

You really need to have both of this turbos in your hands next to each other to see the difference. I did my 20G LT upgrade from my 9.8 a few weeks ago. Then, I did my friends IX swap too. The stock turbo wheels, both look tinny compared to the new 20G.
1/2 second to 3/4 second drop should not be a problem at all.
I allready did a test run. Gains on all numbers. With less boost and octane.
This turbo is not a lateral move like you are puting it. Expect a 50 to 60 whp difference. Expect 5 to 8 mph difference depending on boost!

Whoa there sparky. I did not say they were the same. I said it's the same turbo that has been modified. It's not like it's some extremely different turbo with bigger housings on both sides. Regardless, all those times that Sgt Blamo was REFERENCING were NOT 20g-LTs. They were basic 20g-9-5s that ran low 11s. There was no reason to expect .5-.75s ET increases from those. The 20g-LT is a different story and is expected to have bigger gains than the 20g-9-5.
For you, upgrading from a 9.8 is going to show the biggest gains. Someone upgrading from a IX will see around 20-30whp less gains than you, I would expect.

Excuse me then, mate.
I readed post no. 9 by SGT Blamo and he was talking about the 20G LT and how he would expect it to run better times.
I think you thought he was refering to the 20G-5.
And I thought you were talking about the 20G LT.
So I think both you and me were not reading clearly.
I think the only one that was paying attention was Sgt. Blamo, .
You and I both get a C-, .
Oh! Sparky is 40 years old and fairly experienced in the field of turbochargers.

The times I listed are from 20g-9-5's. If you can beat those times with a stock turbo in a full weight EVO with normal radials, be my guest. Let me know when you do
The 20G-LT-Green turbo is even better than the older version I listed times for. My car went 10.88 at 128, Curt went 10.5 at 129. Two of the guys on that list switched to the LT gaining 40-50 whp each. Expect to see them in the 10's this spring too.

I ran the times below on a pump gas/meth Dynoflash tune. I was also running crap all season tires on a cold day. This spring I should be able to drop my times a few tenths once I get my summer tires on a cut a better 60'.

Dave, when do the tracks around here open? I'm psyched!
I'm thinking / hoping 10.8x for the 20g-LT on my rig. It is up 46whp from the setup that ran the time in my sig. (thanks again Dave!) I'm thinking however, that now wheelspin may be an issue beacause the torque hits so hard and low in the powerband compared to other turbos that produce equal peak power. I haven't driven it since the snow has fallen but it is madder than a dog sh!tting tacks for weeks!
These new numbers will most likely be on C16 not the pump or pump / injection combos that most of the guys I've seen on EvoM that have 50 trims seem to run.
I can't wait to see 1/4 times for both the 50 trim ang 20g-LT. Is is May yet?
