Anybody else? It just looks like from the lack of track results that a stock turbo or 20g is a better choice.

A lot of it probably has to do with the fact that the 50trim is great as a pump gas turbo (ie: daily driver/weekend car) and also the quick spool would make it great as well for a stock 2.0l on road coarse (why I'll probably be purchasing one soon).

If you wanted a drag car, for the amound 50trims cost, 35Rs and such aren't that much more expensive so I would think people would tend to go with a more drag oriented turbo.

I'm just talkin off the top of my head so if you feel I'm completely wrong, let me know.

true, id get a 50 trim or gt3076 for daily driving and occasional track/road course. if you are a drag strip person, the 35r is suitable.

No 20g's make 500 hp. If you look at the 1/4 mile times that EVO's have run with a 20g compared to the 50 trims though I think you will find more fast 20g EVO's. Here are some quick results off the top of my head.

Trent, 11.2 at 122 mph, pump gas/alky
Trevor, 11.1 at 122, C16
Mike, 11.7 at 118, pump/alky
David, 11.1 at 124, C16
Bobby, 11.1 at 124, pump/alky
Chris, 11.3 at 119, C16

The 20g is no joke. It works extremely well at higher boost levels compared to the stock turbo. No real loss of low end so it is still a blast to drive.

I am sure there are a bunch more customers with the 20g that I am not remembering, those a few.

If I bought a 20G9LT and could only get those guys times, I would be extremely bummed. No offence, but if the 20G9LT only gets you into the mid to low 11's, then I'm not impressed. My friends 06 Evo IX ran 11.7 on 93, and 11.5 on 110 with only a BR intake & exhaust, wb 255,MBC, Exedy twin & a very aggressive re-flash on RT615's. I would hope that it would knock 3/4 to 1 whole second off the 1/4 mile.

you are missing the point. you would be bummed with the 50trim as well. it takes about 150whp more to go from 11.7 to 10.7 ET. neither the 20g or 50trim is going to give you 150hp over a evo9 turbo.

Keeping in mind that I have an Evo 8 with 50 trim I've run 12.009 at 119 on pump gas only. On 114 race gas mixed with 93 I've run 11.74 @ 121.9. Both of these were on the same night. Both of these were on a weak tune.

But as everyone knows, the Evo was never designed to be a drag racer. Sure a lot of people have success with it but it's not my main concern. I could give a damn less if Joe Blow tuner says his 20g is faster than mine. I don't use meth, I don't use C16 and I don't give a damn about dyno numbers.

There have been alot of people running fast times on the 20glt but its not on an average joe car. Not enough people with average joe cars have taken the turbo to the track ...its off season for most.

The 50trim will get you mid low 11's on stock block, stock head, with basic bolt ons and moderate boost and has proven over and over and over agin to make great numbers on pump gas.

I am personaly going with the 50trim, nothing agaisnt the 20glt but i dont feel on my car, with my current set up its going to give me everything i want at the boost levels i want to run.
