13.2sec @ 108 MPH with just a TB exhaust

I couldn't bleieve it either! My Evo 9 MR only has a Esprelier DP, test-pipe and Greddy Ti TB exhaust......o'yeah, I almost forgot the K&N drop in filter. Anyway, here is the best run of the night:

Reaction: .5158

60FT: 1.8357

330FT: 5.5113

1/8ET: 8.5080

1/8MPH: 82.25

1000ET: 11.0707

1/4ET: 13.2207

1/4MPH: 108.04

By the way, what is the best time and trap for just a TB exhaust Evo?

Anyway, I can't wait to get a Ecutec tune and cams..........hopefully by then I'll be in the 12's

Incredible trap speed for only having one mod, especially since IXs rarely see good gains with just a TBE due to the stock ECU detuning itself. However, the ET is terrible. Your car is fast enough to run 12s stock, and now with the 108mph trap, you could run a 12.4-12.5. The 60' isn't good, but it's not awful, so your shifting must resemble my 78yo grandmother, although she may be a bit faster.

Btw, no reason to waste your hard-earned money on a $750 EcuTek flash when there are other flash options that cost way, way less than that for the same power and features. Considering you paid nearly $1000 for your cat-back, you may not care. There are also other mods you need to get before cams (MBC, licp, fuel pump).

TO answer your question, I don't know the record for an Evo with only a TBE, but I can assure you that your ET is nowhere it since plenty of stock Evos have done better than 13.2 (I'm one of them). However, your mph may be close to the top, but that's not due to anything on your part, althought the car is fast. As one reference, I went 12.8 on stock exhaust with an SAFC and 12.22 with an safc/cat-back/mbc. Your IX is faster than my VIII was, so you can beat that time with practice.

Bwhuaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa........you right, my shifting technique is lacking but considering this is only my 2nd time at the track with the Evo, I'm pretty happy with the results. Hopefully with more track time, the times will drop.

As for the ECU tuning aspect, I might hold up and wait for the AEM or Cobb to release their new setup. I'm in no hurry to do a tune........l'll purchase a boost controller, intercooler pipes and fuel pump prior to a tune.

A flash is far more useful, powerful, and cost-effective than the $1000+ exhaust you already bought, so why would you want to wait around? The MBC, IC pipes, and fuel pump will hardly do anything compared to the tune. Yes, it's good to get the tune with those parts already on, but you're really just wasting your time and money the way you're modding. That's your prerogative, but most people prefer to get the most power for their money and to get that power sooner than later.

Hmmmmmmmmm...........I was in the assumption, that I should install the other related mod items before getting a tune.

Sure, but you shouldn't be wasting time adding those other mods, because the tune is the absolute most important mod. You spent over $1000 on your exhaust when a tune will give more power gains for less than half the price. It's simple economics...

fantastic trap. i had a similar launch to you (1.82) and ran a 12.4 @ 109

i think i have a boost leak though. a bad one at that. i also had a lot of dead weight in my car too but you get the idea. im only 1mph trap above yours and im decent at launching (at best)

These times dont look like they add up imo... You pulled a 1.8 60 ft and trapped 82 mph in the 8th which is pretty low... On my last pass friday night.. I ran 12.6 @108 with a 1.8 60 ft and 85 in the 1/8 so something isnt adding up here... But if its correct then you have a fast car

i went the same direction as you bud, i baught a jujitsibu exhaust with 3 inch dp and high flow cat. cost like 1300. im gonna get a tune by jester. getting a MBC first
