Also to answer your question, yes you can cut a 1.7 60 on the stock 2 step. I did it plenty of times. I also cut a 7.7 @ 90mph in the 1/8 on a crappy track with stock tires with a few bolt ons that didnt cost me over 1400bucks.
Don't get too hung up comparing that 1st run vs my last run. The first run was royally f'd up.

But for the low overall traps for the 1/8th, they struck me as pretty low. For all my runs, my 1/8th speed varied from 80.03 mph to 81.38 mph. Pretty consistent. I think though that it may have to do with the fact that I'm shifting at 6800 rpm for my 3-4 shift (doesn't 3rd gear redline at 83 mph?) So that may account for my low traps.

To compare, I did race a modded Evo for my 4th run.
me vs him

330 5.528 5.454
1/8 8.572 @81.38 8.460@85.23

You think the traps for the 1/8th are just off?

Despite the can of worms I opened up w/ the 2nd gear chirping issue, I do appreciate all your help. Thanks.

I TOTALLY belive the Trap Speeds are in the Shifting, at our track rental I had my buddy drive my car after my Best Runs were in the Low 13.30's @ 103-4mph and
he CONSISTENLY went Low 13.teens@105something, even hitting a 105.71 during one pass (he made 4 passes in my car)..and even MORE importantly his 1/8 mile mph was almost 83, while mine was a consistent 80.something....so the bottom line is that YES it's all in the shifting!!

WELL ITS NOT THE FACT THAT I AM GETTING HUNG UP I AM JUST STATING THE OBVIOUS HERE. Everyone who has spent any decent amount of time at the strip knows that the trap speeds will not be congruent with each other if you ran a whole second faster. Thats just speedology 101 so to say. Granted your run may have been f'd up but that still doesnt mean you will trap the same speed.

However, I wouldnt say the timers are off I think the trap readers are off. The reason why knowing the trap is important is because we can tell from the times you ran vs the trap speeds if you are either driving poorly or the car is just not performing properly.

Now as far as the modded evo is concerned gathering from the data he doesnt know how to launch or he is babying it. But more importantly look at his trap speeds vsthe times he has in comparison to yours. Now for starters he had a shabby 60ft then he only ran 1 tenth faster than you in the 1/8 but his trap speed was a whole 5mph faster! Something isnt right here. Then later in the run he only ran 2 tenths faster than you but his traps were almost a whole 10mph faster than you. You see what I am saying? The traps make no sense.
