12.3 @ 112

Went to the track on saturday and ran a 12.3 @ 112 mph with 19" wheels the mods are fuel pump, MBC, K&N drop in, D/P, Catless and Exhaust, stock clutch. How good is that for the stock clutch I have realized a lot of people do not mention there clutch in there mods and it's a huge mod on the EVO's. I know this because with a clutch i could get a better 60ft through to 1/8 mile time which could help out the back door.I know there is 0.2 in the 60' which means there is 0.3-0.4 in the 1/4.

My splits are
60' 1.843
330' 5.123
1/8 7.894
mph 89.15
1000' 10.302
1/4 12.319
mph 112.14

Thanks for your views.

I think my clutch is going as it is getting a little high but i think it may be the 19" wheels why it's harder to leave the line I have pulled 1.71 sixtys in the past but on stock wheels thanks for the reply

damn those IX's are too damn fast.

just so you know a clutch won't automatically make you launch better. plenty of people including myself have gone 1.7s and better on the stocker. 1.8 isn't bad but it could be better, what are you doing on the launch spinning or bogging?

The car dosn't bog or spin it leaves well but sounds like it's slipping even when you watch the tach, I believe the clutch is just going because even after the run I have to wait a while before I can run again as the pedal gets very high I have pulled 1.71 60's before

Should be able to run an 11.99 with that power. Just takes a lower 60ft. Can be done with stock clutch. Stronger clutch would make it easier. Good pass for so little mods. IXs rock.

Just curious, why are you using an MBC with a reflash for an IX ? I was talking to Al @ dynoflash, and he said it wasn't necessary because he sets the boost level in the ECU thus eliminating the need for an MBC. My reflash, the boost is @ 1.55 (22.8 psi)... Are you running a higher boost level like 25 or 26 psi ? I noticed you have the fuel pump, but then again, why not just get it flashed to run that psi and eliminate the MBC ? Unless you can't program the ECU to run that high of boost and tune your maps accordingly with the proper upgrades to make it work (exhaust, fuel pump...). I don't even have any of your other MODS, and I'm running 12.30s... (although i'm on stock 17" wheels and my 60' times are in the 1.6x's and 1.7xs. Once i get the TBE and drop-in (with another reflash for the TBE) i should hit 11.9s like some other IX's did on here with the same setup.

First off good night mr nightshifter where do i begin lets see MBC because
a) I run my boost daily at 22psi and bleed back to 19psi and it holds a little better than with the ecu
b) It's my choice and i have flashed a quiet a few using the stock ecu

Second a fuel pump for me is just a failsafe no other reason $85 failsafe is it or is it not worth it to you ?

Third I did say the car needs a clutch

Fourth 19" wheels

Fifth My car has only been down the track 4 times
1st 13.2 missing second
2nd 12.6
3rd 12.5
4th 12.3

If your car is faster I am truly happy for you and wish you the best in your quest to achieve your goal whatever it may be even if it's making me feel small or disappointed with my cars results.

OK Mr Nightshifter

You took this all wrong. I'm not saying my car is faster. I'm just wondering why people are using an MBC when it really isn't necessary with an IX. My boost doesn't taper also, because the boost taper is disabled. I hold to 19. I'm trying to understand why people are using an MBC on the IX. I wanted to go that route, but Al told me not to. Just wondering if there was a real benifit that would yield much better times. Sorry about that.

0.2 sec in the 60' faster should only mean 0.2 in the 1/4
