I mentioned earlier that I ran a 12.30 @ 107.99 with a 1.72 60'. Think about that for a second. Also, we've had a lot of weird results from people at Sac that don't make sense plus another guy from the area who said that Sac times are not valid. Head to Infineon and see if you still trap 108 while stock.

Race gas is useless on a stock Evo. Race gas doesn't just randomly make you faster. It allows you to run more boost than on 91oct, but if you don't have a boost contoller or a way to retune, then it's a waste of money. Yes, of course an MBC is useful on an MR.

If you don't know why the HKS SSQV is bad for the Evo after the million threads on here explaining it, then you're beyond hope at this point.
Please correct me if I'm wrong (and I will definitely read up on this just for my own knowledge) but I'm going to make a guess and say that the first thing I see wrong with this is mixture. If the car isn't even tuned - admittedly so - then that car is blowing off air that was normally routed back into the intake anyway, therefore, the car would be running rich. I'm assuming it would be running rich sine without a flash, the car would still be compensating that air intake (that isn't there anymore) with fuel.

Sacramento Raceway......

Sac is a good racetrack..........it just depends what time of year you attend and how much power you make. In the spring & fall it can be the best hooking track in California. Once the first rain falls, and the weather turns cold, forget about great traction. The moisture gets under the layer of rubber and ***** it up making traction tricky, especially for high horsepower cars. I wasted a month of Saturdays trying to figure out my racecar's suspension........it was the track, not the car.

As far as safety goes, they finally got the concrete barriers up. No more fearing the armco and posts anymore.

It is always possible to find DA below 500ft and sometimes sub 0 in the winter. This compounds the HP vs. Traction issue. I have run many cars at this track and I have never had a timing issue. I have compared runs @ Sac, Infinion, California Speedway, Bakersfield & Vegas. All seem consistent based on the DA for the day.

Good luck w/your EVO and keep banging gears.

Paul

I was the only Blue one out there...I was too tired to talk to any of the Evo owners...hahaha...I noticed that my tires spun really bad during my launches. 20 PSI in the tires with a 3k rpm slip...my back end tends to come out.

Why is everyone bashing this guy for having the SSQV? He never said it was VTA, he just said he had the SSQV. Give it a rest.

^There are over a gzillion threads here explaining why the hks ssqv is not a good mod for the evo. It also is horrible at holding high boost levels. When dealing with a stock turbo on the evo a recirc type bov is the only thing you should use. Any other vta bov will actually makse you lose hp. Also with vta bov on stock turboed evos there are problems like stalling and bogging. People are probably making a big stink about it cause they want to help him in making better mod decisions.

There is no way he ran those times because those times dont even make sense especially for his mods. I am beginning to think the timers are screwed up. Warrtalon said it right with that kind of 60ft and trap it just isnt feasable especially with all the supporting data we have with all the other time slips that we have seen people run with stock evos.

I would like to see what he runs on another track or if we can get proof of what he actually has done to the car.

Yes and what happens when you run rich? Thats right you lose hp. So how in the hell does a stock evo that is running less power than every other stock evo get times that are far better than any other stock evo? Like I said and wrrtalon said its just not possible and it doesnt make any sense

yeah the trap is kinda unbelievable.. i ran a 12.4@109 and a 1.70 60' that is with tbe/filter/flash/mbc.. i dont think anyone is saying that your slip doesnt say that.. i think everyone is doubting the tracks equipment..

only way to set it straight is to go to another track with the same setup...
