Warrtalon all I ask is that if you give me advise or your are trying to say something don't give smart a$$ comments. I haven't drag raced at a track for about five years. I never thought a track could be off that much. I'm sorry for what I said bro. I'm just going through a rough divorce and its taking a toll on me. I understand what you are saying. I really don't believe that speed too. I'm new to the EVO seen and didn't know that trap speed was that fast for an EVO. I haven't been able to read a lot of the post on here yet. How the he!! can I found out if its been flashed or not. Also I'm going to try Infineon and Top Gun to see what I trap there. I will let you guys know.

You can find out if you download EcuFlash for free and buy the Tactrix cable for $90, then check the ROM in your ECU.
Also, you can do some indefinite tests like finding out where your launch limiter is set. When you were launching, how high were you revving? Were you doing it below 5k...at 5k...above 5k? Were you using the built-in launch control? Did you even know it had launch control? These details can help figure it out maybe.

Where can I purchase the tactrix cable. I unplugged the rev limiter or launch control.
The first run was at 5800rpm; terrible launch. Second run was at 6000rpm and a little better launch. The third one I was told to pulsate the turbo that turned out like crap. The fourth run was better but I launched at about 6000 or 6200rpm. I'm running a mbc controller but it is set to stock boost. That doesn't explain the trap speed though, or does it. Whats your personal thought of tuning with a SAFC II. Also my clutch I think after launching it so many times, I feel its slipping a little bit. What would you do next on the car knowing you have the same car. Where did you get the most power from. I know the TBE is very important but tuning is also. Thanks bro

MBC ??
I guess you have 3 mods then. A good mbc will hold better boost than the stock bcs. Resulting a higher trap. So yes it matters although still very hard to believe your 108 traps for your mods.
SAFC were good but hardly used nowadays since EcuFlash came out and affordable mail-in/e-mail flashes offered by tuners.
I would suggest finding more about your ecu if it's flashed before adding more parts. Or if your boost gauge is reading correct.
I would also check if your fuel pump is stock or not. Most Evo 8's upgrade to a higher flowing one like a Walbro unit. If your going for mail-in /e-mail flashes, the tuner will want to know what pump your running in order provide you with the right map. Since you bought it used....You don't know if it was ever modded or not.

I love how all these threads use the word "stock" and end up with "well I had this" and then "I also had this BUT...". For the love pete its either stock or not stock, there is no reason to worry about nearly stock times. "No for real guys, my car is almost stock except for the 3582R hanging off the AMS header."

I didn't mean to stir you guys wrong. I have never owned a turbo car before. And very new to the EVO's. I've always wanted one, got one and here we are. I apologize to all the members on this forum. I didn't mean to lie to you guys. My friend said that it wouldn't make that big of a differance if a list it because we are running stock boost. I will be a man and tell you that I messed up. Please don't discredit me. Thanks. Also I will have to find out what the he!! was done to this car so I can really know whats in it.

Yah, an MBC makes a big difference, because it can raise max boost but also significantly reduce the taper that we see in stock form. Also, when you say you have it set to stock boost, what does that mean? Are you saying that based off your gauge reading 20psi peak in 3rd gear from a low rpm roll?
Get the Tactrix cable from Tactrix.com, and get EcuFlash from OpenEcu.org. Go to the EcuFlash sub-forum up above in the tuning section and follow the EcuFlash tutorial.

Correct me if im wrong, but 1 bar=14.7psi. So 1.2-1.3 would be around 18-19psi i think. Yet again please correct me if im wrong.

So you didn't how to read in bar when you made the stock boost claims?
1.5 bar spike means you're running ~22psi and only tapering to 19psi or so. Stock is a 20.3psi spike tapering to 17psi - big difference in power there.

I'm going to stop listening to people where I live. It seems that I get different answers from everyone. This is too da^^n funny man. I ask five people what the 1.5bar stood for in PSI and they all gave me different answers. I guess i will stop trusting people that don't drive or haven't work on an EVO. Anyways would that explain the trap speed. If not I don't know what to say. I will order that cable and download he software when they come out with the Mac version.
