BR20G-LT track day review 3-21-2007, Jester tuned

I know alot of you are not able to run your cars because the snowy weather up North.
We are way South, and it is hot allready down here, mid 80's today and 60 percent humidity, .
This was another down pass, here is a little review for those whom are waiting on some track numbers from this turbo.

Not a really cool day today to run the car, and not the best time since it had more than 1/4 of pump in it. Oscar, [Race Man] called me and we decided to take it to OSW. Added 4 gallons of 110 and increased the boost to 30 psi on the street. That filled the as tank to more than 1/2 full, .
Guessing the octane to be around 97 octane, we made 2 track runs tonight.
The boost only spiked to 27.0 psi on the first run and 26.5 on the second run at the track. Also probably getting small knock due to the lower octane in the tank.

1st pass 11.54@119.94 with a 1.727 60 ft and 94.71 mph in the 1/8.
2nd. pass 11.670@120.16 with a 1.837 60ft. and 94.75 mph in the 1/8.

Not too bad for a small turbo upgrade, and a trip to the track with the car not fully prepared. Oscar drove it like he stole it, .
Oscar is the driver for Proccoevo. Congrats Oscar, now he is got his NHRA 9 second lisence, completed last night.
Next time when it is cooler and we run better fuel and less in the tank, it should do a little better.
My car had gone 11.8 on the stock turbo before, so thanks to John, (Jester) for his great tunes, .

Not bad at all but was expecting a higher trap with 27psi. 400whp should be a 120trap, correct? This turbo should be that on pump gas levels,22-23psi.

The thing is, my car is full weight. No weight reduction. Is an 04 with SSL package. Nothing but the spare tire is out. And then, the run was made with a half tank of fuel, less than 100 octane due to little preparation not expecting to run that day.
3300 lbs for the car, another 80 lbs for fuel and 165 lbs driver is near 3500 lbs. It takes alot of trust to move this much mass and still trap 119-120.
A 300-400 lbs weith reduction would equal another 3 to 4 mph easy, and a little more cold weather may be another 1 to 2 mph.
When I say 27 psi, that was the peak psi seen. Probably for a moment in 3rd. gear. So it is sort of deceiving. However, I don't like to say, well, it was done at 22 psi like others do. 27-26.7 peak psi is the max boost that it was seen and that is how it should be noted.
At any rate, I wanted to post the data. Not bad for what it was. As everyone has noted. Is right inline with some 50 trim turbo and 3065 turbos even some 35R turbo runs I have seen. This 20G-LT is doing what it was design to do. Give you 60 to 80 more HP and drive like stock.
I can tell you that both cars we raced at the track were full out trailer drag cars, and the Evo dusted them both. It is a good feeling to see a stock looking Evo beat a full out, trailer in drag car by many car lenghs, .

100 oct

I hope to see more people post their times with the LT. Thanks for yours but like mentioned above I thought you would be a little faster and have a better time w/ added 100 oct and raising the boost to 27, maybe you where getting knock . . . lower the boost to 25-26 or so with that mixture. I've seen similar times with the stock turbo and 100octane added. (not straight). . . .just curious to see if you were encountering a problem.

3/10's faster with the green and your runnung on less than 100 octane !
What kind of gas was the stock turbo run 11.8 ?
This looks very good add more octane + more boost and you will have a low 11 sec car .

Horrible launches for a TILTON twin hybrid clutch unit. You would think this "race man" would be able to cut some real 60 foot times.

The car is very heavy though. SSL, Leather, subwoofer, sunroof, etc.

Are you planning on upgrading to some more aggressive cams? Nice numbers but it looks like it has alot more in it.

Thanks everyone, .

I have not decided on the biger cams yet. I am still working on the current set-up. I still got the Methanol Kit to go in. Then I will run the car again with it with nice fuel in it and thus more boost. And I need 2 new front tires, right now the ones I got have 36K in them and are bold on the inside.
