lame 1/4 mile results (drag)
#16
I went to the drag strip yesterday in my 06 MR. I turned a 13.40 best time with a 1.8 / 60ft, and top speed of 109. My MR is Stock except for exhaust. I'm a terrible driver, this time was the first run of the day and I forgot to turn the air conditioner off...hahaha...I know my Evo can do better when I get my EBC installed.
I run 12.3 @ 109, so just think how much better your times will get when you learn to shift even remotely better than grandma. You should feel good about your trap speed, though, because 109 with an exhaust and no tune is ridiculously high.
Just please do not install that horridly awful K&N Typhoon !!! If you take just a few seconds to search, you'd know that was the worst possible intake on an Evo and should not be used. You also don't need an EBC - MBC is great - but it should work well if you know how to tune it. Just please get a tune (flash) as soon as you can, and the car will be a beast. Remember also that Greddy is just a name - it doesn't mean the stuff is good. You can get much more for your money without purchasing magazine ricer brands.

Nothing to say to yours other than the car is slow. Your launch and shifting aren't terrible, but the car is terribly slow. It's as slow or slower than a stock 03.

hey, if i know my car makes peak hp at 6500rpms, BUT don't know what the rest of my dyno chart looks like, should i bother even taking that into consideration when trying to find the optimal shift points?
